ROFLMAO!!!!

#11 Fed-Ex Denny Hamlin, since Tony didn't make it.

Mr. Ford95 09-16-2006 08:44 AM

Gordon is my pick since he's my driver but Harvick in that 29 car looks scary right now. He's running good at tracks he was only mediocre at.

Big_Dippin 09-16-2006 10:07 AM

Im going with Jr. since he's my favorite. He has some tracks coming up that have been very good to him.

Mr. Ford95 09-16-2006 11:44 AM

Watch out for Dick Trickle. Mean stuff right there. Running good at 90 years old on the local short tracks around the country.

LOL-Dick Trickle used to Run up here at our Local track pretty often. VERY Funny guy-Used to Smoke running around the Track :P

Mr. Ford95 09-16-2006 11:52 PM

Think I heard he helps setup the IROC cars with Dave Marcis.

Hat Rak 09-17-2006 04:30 AM

Go Mark Martin!

yoopr 09-17-2006 04:41 AM

Wouldn't be surprised Mr. Ford-Both are from Wisconsin and I'd be surprised if he didn't have something to do with Kenseth.

Yeah-Mark Winning a Championship would be great.

Yanke_driver 09-17-2006 10:39 AM

It's gonna be an exciting finish this year I think. Harvick is on a helluva tear right now...he's got a good chance. I like the look of Jeff Burton to take it all as well. It's a tough call to make right now. Seeing Mark Martin win in his final cup series year would be great, definately one of the crowd favorites to win it. I just really hope that Gordon or Johnson don't win...I can't stant those two jerks!!

yoopr 09-17-2006 10:55 AM

really surprised Harvick didn't get blackflagged for Agressive driving.

WildK9 09-17-2006 11:03 AM

GO Denny-2nd in points!

Tillerman 09-17-2006 02:16 PM

The Chase

I think that Kevin Harvick is the one to beat, He's hot & RCR has had very few engine problems this year... Staying out front & out of trouble is the key in winning.. I think Jr. has an outside chance but is dependant upon Tony Jr. getting the setup week to week right. Got tickets to Texas Motor Speedway for the weekend of Nov 2-5. 8th race in the chase. Went in April this year when Casey Kayne won. I have to admit that was quite an experience. Football tailgateing is nothing compred to the Nascar races 4-5 day events...What a party!!!

I definately agree!!! I went to my first NASCAR race last september in Dover,DE and the tailgating was like nothing i've experienced before. I'll be going to another race next season for sure...but I have no Idea where I wanna go yet, Atlanta, Bristol or Richmond is what I've got it narrowed down to right now.

Bristol is on the top of my list right now, but i've heard quite a few times that it's next to impossible to get tickets. I'd have to pay through the nose for them, I think i'd have to use a ticket broker, but frankly, the cost of the ticket wouldn't bother me that much...It would be well worth it!

Used to run by TMS pretty often when I had to go down to Laredo

Mr. Ford95 09-17-2006 09:37 PM

Richmond is a joke anymore. Bunch of high class snobs there who know nothing about racing. Martinsville is fun as heck, the fans all respect one another and who their driver is. I have tix to the Chase race and love it, also very easy to get out after the race. Takes me about 3 hours to get home from the track. My wife and I walk out about 15 minutes after the checkered flag, get in the car and are out of the parking lot and on the road in about 20 minutes. We are also parking about 200 feet from the track. Richmond requires you to park a mile or more from the track and trying to get out after a race is a total clusterfick.

You can get tix to the Spring race, but forget the Night race in the Summer unless you already know someone who has tix.

yoopr 09-18-2006 04:02 AM

I'd really like to go to Richmond or Bristol some day
I know a guy who went to Bristol duriing their "Snow storm". I guess trying to get Tix for Bristol is llike trying to get tix for Packer games

Hat Rak 09-18-2006 05:49 AM

I've been to Loudon, Pocono, and Daytona myself.

Is there a wait list for Bristol or Nashville M.S. tix?

Mr. Ford95 09-18-2006 08:52 AM

Bristol is next to impossible unless you buy them off Ebay and then you have to be careful they ain't fakes. Tix on Ebay can go for a low low price of only $400 a piece and those are the down low, see nothing seats. It is worse than getting tix to see the Packers. The waiting list is about 15 years long but something might open up next year, Bruton Smith is supposedly going to add another 5,000 seats.

Busch races at Nashville are easy to get tix too, Cup does not run there. Any Busch race is easy to get tix to, usually you just walk up the day of the event and get them, they are always general admission seating which means you can sit anywhere.

I have been to Dover, won't go back since there is only one way in and one way out and they have added about 20,000 seats since I last went back in like 1991. Same with Richmond, impossible to get out of now from when I used to go back in the early 90's and they are still adding seats.

Got plans to eventually get to Atlanta since they are fixing the traffic problem, Lowes(Charlotte to all us old school followers) for the 600 and All-Star, Bristol's night race, the Daytona 500 and Darlington before they shut the old Lady in Black down.

Yoop, I might be able to get you a couple of tix to Richmond next year but be prepared to walk to Timbuktu and back. My uncle gets like 4 every year for both races. Dunno know if he is going to renew after the race 2 weeks ago. They had a fight that led to a shooting right beside the drivers motorcoach lot area as fans were leaving the stands.

yoopr 09-18-2006 09:19 AM

For my First race I want to go to a short track like Bristol or Martinsville where there is actually more skill involved to win. Wish there were more Short track NASCAR races.

Mr. Ford95 09-18-2006 10:29 AM

Martinsville is VERY fan-friendly. My wife didn't want to go last year after we had been to Richmond. I promised her it was way better, she went and plans to keep going as long as I keep our seats. 37 Rows up, about 100 feet from the Start/Finish line. We literally could reach out and touch the cars, high enough to see everything, even the apron on the backstretch but still low enough to hear the sheet metal grinding. Beware, WEAR EAR PROTECTION at Bristol and/or Martinsville, you will go deaf a quarter of the way into the race.

NascarFan 09-18-2006 10:49 AM

Harvick is going to win it.

Tillerman 09-18-2006 03:46 PM

Listen for all you fans/drivers. I can assure you that driving @ a superspeedway with restrictor plates and 42 other cars within 200' (parking lot travelling @ 190mph) I takes just as much if not more to handle a car in those conditions as it does to rub with most @ Martinsville. I think that if you can get into any race then you have made out. Some tracks are better than others but the end result is great "racin" and fantastic people. I have to say that, going to the races is much nore fun that any other sport just for the fun factor leading up to the race. You can usually get 2-3 races each weekend what a deal..I'll agree with FOrd95 an encourage anyone attending one of these wear real good hearing protection!!!

yoopr 09-18-2006 05:21 PM

Used to drive through your town pretty often Tillerman

Tillerman 09-19-2006 12:21 AM

Yoopr, Ole 59 highway sees quite a few trucks in a day, Houston to Texarkana and all points north.. That and 69 highway runs Beaumont to Tyler as a shortcut to Dallas Ft. Worth.. Note: lookout for the logging trucks they're everywhere and some are in pretty bad shape.. Then again if you come thru here often you already know about them!!!

Tillerman 09-26-2006 03:49 AM

Well after two of the 10 final races the herd looks to be thinning, It has taken an unexpected turn @ the top.. Still 7 drivers in this, but as unexpected as last weeks race @ Dover anything can happen. There is a lot of luck involved in Stock Car racin". I still maintain that Kevin Harvick will be @ the top or at least an RCR entry. If Earnhardt does'nt get a little help with his setups this week he will be the next victim removed from contention.. WHAT DO YOU THINK???

yoopr 09-26-2006 04:43 AM

I think it'll come down between Kenseth and Harvick and Hope Mark Martin gets into the Mix.

Marty Mar better be in that mix!!!!!!!

Mr. Ford95 09-27-2006 08:47 AM

I'm not counting JJ out quite yet even though I don't like him. He has suddenly gotten real good on restrictor plate tracks, he owns Lowes, he is real good suddenly at Martinsville. Remember, he was something like 200+ points out their first year and nearly won the dang thing in the last 6 races. Lost by 8 points after making up as much ground as Alan Kulwicki did back in 1992 in about the same amount of races. This thing ain't close to being decided yet, Burton still has a win left in him at Phoenix. Gordon could get his 3rd Kansas win Sunday and dominate Martinsville. Anybody could win 'Dega. It's possible we could see the inagural Chase finish all over again with 5-6 guys going into Homestead with a shot at the title.

Tillerman 09-28-2006 01:26 AM

I sure hope so, It surely makes for an enjoyable and competitive season. I think with the tempers and aggressive nature of most drivers under 35 there should be some banging and gentle nudging in the corners, if you know what I mean.. I have tickets for the races @ Texas Motor Speedway (Nov) 8th race of the 10.. I sure hope it has @ least 5-6 drivers still in it by then...

Mr. Ford95 09-28-2006 09:06 AM

I agree with the bumping and nudging. When you go see a race live, you see more of that than what the TV shows. Watch the Martinsville race, you will only see a few scrapes on TV, but in person you see just about every car bumping with someone else in every turn of every lap. At the big tracks though, the veterans ain't dumb, they know that if you touch one another, the result may hurt physically when they slam the wall. The young guys ain't hit the wall enough to understand that you can't go around nudging guys out of the way on the big tracks. It has gotten pretty sad, you hear these young guys saying after the race, "I would have passed you but I just couldn't quite get to you to bump you out of the way." Whatever happened to bringing the car home in one piece and not overdriving what your car is capable of doing??

yoopr 09-28-2006 09:34 AM

sorry but it went out around the same time as when Trucking was hard but we all stuck together and it was good.

On my Snapon Fantasy racing last week I finished 58th out of thousands-I COULD have been at or near the top if Kenseth hadn't run out of Fuel

Comraderie with Truckers in Iraq was Unbelievable though.

Tillerman 09-28-2006 01:53 PM

You know it, The equipment/safety gear/safer walls and all those historic changes that occurred after Dale Earnhardt's untimely death have made the younger drivers even more daring. Seemed to make it even easier to those flying daredevils who's cars stick like glue and come off the corners like they were on rails to push the envelope to the edge... They have their big one is coming, most likely one of the rolling parking lot races @ 190mph (Talledega) Especially if it occurs by a nudge on the "ole left rear corner" coming into a turn.. Bad News. I think I'm going to take a couple of 34 hr resets in race cities next season. TMS is fast but I love all the racing from Martinsville to Dega..except road courses don't do much for me..
