Funny how the cars that run up front when it gets dark run like they are on rails. Boy ole Tony had everyones number in the last 50 laps.. I saw the video several times and agree that Robbie may have really thrown that cage padding out of his car to get the lucky dog late in the race...He didn't run over it and it surely didn't look like anything was on the trackl @ that time. Jr. had a good car, Kenseth is like Houdini how that guy can come back from adversity. Gordon just seem to be having a bit of bad luck whether caused by his own mistakes or bad equipment or even worse other bad drivers....They're plenty of them out there..JJ can drive & is another one of those guys that get the break or setup just right @ the right time..Harvick & Kayne just not there year.. Although I expect a good finish for Kayne at least in Texas.. He won the spring race...On to Texas... I am leaving on Tuesday morning with camper in tow for that race.. What an event, I highly encourage anyone that thinks that Nascar racin is boring (all those left turns) go to a race live, Half the fun is in the camping areas leading up to the race.."Gone Racin" Write back after the race...

Stay Safe alll!!!

This was the FIRST and LAST time I'm putting Khane on My Fantasy team.
I know somebody pulled the same trick with the padding this year but forget who.

shyykatt 10-29-2006 03:18 PM

I can't believe I missed it today; JJ 2nd, right?

Mr. Ford95 10-29-2006 09:34 PM

Yoop, I think it was Reed Sorenson who got caught doing the same thing. Can't say for sure, but yes it happened earlier this year also. I think NBC crossed the line by accusing Robby of doing it. I really thought poor Dave Burns was going to get his butt kicked. Let NASCAR do the finger pointing and investigating. All Dave would have had to do was go ask Robby off camera if he knew anything about it and whether or not he wanted to talk. You don't corner Robby Gordon and accuse him of something, the horns will come out of his head and you will get the raging bull.

Yeah Yoop, I would have put Burton in over Junior  That was after seeing how Junior was having some problems in practice Saturday.

WildK9 11-05-2006 03:17 AM

hmmmmm, wonder how Vickers will react this time being up front?

WildK9 11-05-2006 06:07 AM

Who do ya'll want to win and (for fantasy points) need to win. Also who do you think will win? Of course, I want Stewart or Hamlin to win. I need Vickers, Kenseth, Shrub, or -and don't laugh too loud- Menard to win. (sometimes don't like this particular fantasy set up) As far as who I think will win, hmmmm, it's hard to say, but I think the winner will come from the top ten in qualifying. No ryhme or reason, just a feeling.

yoopr 11-05-2006 09:03 AM

go to SnapOn Fantasy race next year then if you're still living.
For Texas I have Kenseth as team leader(after the chase starts you're stuck with your team leader and then I haveLeader>>> Matt Kenseth

How bout that #20!! :D

Tillerman 11-06-2006 01:52 AM

This was a weekend for dominating cars & drivers.. All three races @TMS were won by Chevy's (Boyer) led over half of the laps in the truck race. (It was about 38 degrees in the stands for this night race) Harvick dominated in the Busch race led 145 or 200. Stewart in the Cup race (led 278 of 334) The Chase is really down to 4 drivers. With the two @ the top pocketing the lucky horseshoes.. Just goes to show the never give up attitude race to race.. Really was cold this weekend with the mild weather on Sunday along with the rain... Traffic after was a b-----d...Took 4 1/2 hours to get home. Drive is usually 3 1/4...

Stay Safe out there!!!

WildK9 11-09-2006 08:48 AM

Gordon re-married  i think they should tweak the Chase a bit. IMO they should allow the defending champion to be in the Chase as long as he's within the top 15 after the first 26 races. being the Champ should have a little more weight.

Tillerman 11-09-2006 03:12 PM

Nascar will make some changes next year and possibly exempt the previuos years chanpion. I do beleive that they are working on giving the winner's of any of the races a larger point total for the win. Especially during the Chase races...Possibly expanding the point total to make the Chase greater (say 500)..

WildK9 11-10-2006 10:39 AM

here's to hoping Tony can win 3 in a row! :D

France was in a Accident today I heard

Top 5 for Phoenix.

1. Kevin Harvick

2. Matt Kenseth

3. Denny Hamlin

4. Kyle Bush

5. Mark Martin

Tillerman 11-11-2006 02:56 AM

Although the 500 point idea was a consideration rarely has the top ten driver been within 400 points. I think that the difference will be in the points allowed for a win thru the season.. Tony Stewart is a good example. How can a driver that has won 5 races not be in the hunt without a whole lot of DNF's. I guessing:
Top 5:

Jr.
Tony
Kevin

If anything desparation within the ranks might just seal the fate of several drivers in the chase this weekend..

Mr. Ford95 11-11-2006 10:01 AM

I like the idea of giving an Automatic berth to the defending Champ but if he is say outside of the Top 15, he cannot win the title, he can do no better than 2nd place even if he wins the last 10 races. It would make too much of a mockery of the sport if the defending champ was say, 26th in points and won the Title again. Other than that, I do not think the points structure should be changed at all. This is only the 3rd year and the points are still to likely be close yet again at Homestead.

Oh BTW, my man Gordon is on the pole and has been blowing everyone away all weekend in practice. Car is on a rail.

Tie breaker: 115.020

Mr. Ford95 11-12-2006 10:09 AM

Well unless something drastic happens in these final 50 laps at Phoenix, turn out the lights, it's over. Johnson is going to go to Homestead and stroke. He has about a 60 point lead so Kenseth, Harvick and Junior would need to win, lead the most laps and hope Johnson does not lead a lap and finishes 30th or worse. At that all Johnson has to do is just run half throttle next week, AKA Stroke, and simply finish the race 15th or better. Only run when he needs it.

CARDIOKID73 11-15-2006 08:32 PM

Im hoping junior can take it.. its going to be a good race thats for sure ..

Mr. Ford95 11-16-2006 08:53 AM

Well, Junior could get 2nd place in the Chase, he's only 27 points back of Kenseth. If Junior were to win the race and get all the bonus points, a total of 190 points, he would need Kenseth to not lead a lap and finish no higher than 4th. If he did lead a lap, then no high than 5th and if Kenseth got all the bonus points, no higher than 6th place.

For Junior to win the title, he needs the above and Johnson to not lead a lap and finish no higher than 22nd. If that happens, Junior wins the title by 3 points, the smallest ever margin of victory in the Title race. If Johnson leads a lap, he can finish no higher than 23rd place (Junior wins by 1 point) and if he were to lead the most laps, he cannot finish any higher than 27th place (Junior wins by 3 points.)

Tillerman 11-16-2006 04:10 PM

You can bet JJ will be shadowing any Chaser within striking distance... He has been really strong the past 5 races. Hey, Ford95 nice work with the numbers and info through the year... You obviously follow Nascar with a passion.. Thanks for helping prop up the thread.. CARDIOKID73 are you in the Fire Service??? I retired from the Fire Service in Jan 05 after 28 years, several injuries and quite a few memories, some good, but mostly tragic incidents.. Was able to serve with some of the best people I ever met...

Mr. Ford95 11-16-2006 09:36 PM

Follow it with a passion, I was practically born into the sport. My dad was an engine builder for the local boys on the short tracks. My uncle drove on the short tracks and my grandfather raced regionally in the Va, MD area while ocassionally running a few Grand National races(which is now the Cup series.) My grandfathers brother or cousin was a Cup series official for a number of years, now I think he is doing only the Busch series so that he can be home more since they do a lot of one day shows.

CARDIOKID73 11-19-2006 09:22 PM

:D

Yes tillerman I am with the Fire Service , I was a Firefighter for 3 years and then had a accident due to a drunk driver and was caught between a firetruck and a ambulance and had my left leg amputated below the knee, I then moved into Disptach , and I have been here for 13 yrs now.. So for the last 16 its what I have been doing, plus I grew up around it , My dad was in it for 23yrs and was Chief at the time he retired after being on the scene of my accident, he said he just didnt have the heart for it after that

Tillerman 11-26-2006 06:05 AM

Well, it was a really good season for Nascar.. It will be interesting how far and the feedback the drivers give on the COT.. Some good, some not so good.. Anyway thanks for all that chimed in..On to next season, Look forward to Daytona.. See ya in Feb.... Look for the thread to continue...
