Anyone have any experiences with Mississippi DOT officers?
just one. checked my logs and saw that I wasn't caught to the last change of status. told me to catch it up and drive safe. real nice guy but talked real s-l-o-w lol guess thats cause I grew up in NH and I can't get the Yankee out of me!
Never had a problem in MS.....been crossing through there for a long time now.... I've stopped and talked to them a time or two...to get information and they were rather helpful. Nice folks...at least the ones I spoke with were.
Pulled into the weigh station in Vicksburg, 10 minutes after the legal sunset with a permit load. Thought I had until 30 after sunset, in Ms it's 30 BEFORE, DOT officer very nicely suggested that I park the trailer at the end of the parking area, dolly down and go visit Vicksburg for supper. Recommended a couple good places to eat and let me know that he would be there all night, no one would be able to mess with my load.
west bound vicksburg scale.... i had and ifta sticker on my truck but i didnt have an updated copy of permit.....they were pretty cool about it, even though i was fined 20bucks plus a 7.95 fee for using a debit card.
Good to hear nobody has had any trouble with them. I'm thinking of applying with them next time they are hiring. What advice would yall have for a newbie DOT Officer?
