Default DD15 - now delivering

Talked to the local freightshaker salesman, he said they just delivered their first DD15 equipped Cascadia on monday.

Bison transport took delivery of one this January. Apparently(according to salesman) it was not quite specced right, 3.70 gears(too low). They'd prefer 3.58's

Ran from Winnipeg to Regina all winter, and if you know our winters, that's some brutal weather going across the prairies. Many times it was below -20.

Did an ECM report in March, 7.2 MPG average.

Now here's the fuzzy part, one guy said the truck was pulling turnpikes, the other wasn't sure.

If they were doing that pulling turnpike trains (I assume that's the same as here), I'd be impressed...assuming the ECM was fairly accurate.

As a sidenote, I saw a quote from a Schneider exec saying that they are now averaging 5% better mpg's than they were before the first round of emissions changes.

Big deal is rumors have it that the yellow motor won't be any longer! I don't know how true it is but I've heard it several times in the past few months. I believe CAT's heavy duty engine for the trucking industry make up 1% of their business. Just telling ya what I've heard!

Well, I don't know about the new Detroit, but I sure do miss my old 500. It would run circles around this fuel pig 475 Cat I'm drivin right now.

Sure but in much nicer weather. -20 really kills fuel mileage. Probably 1.5 MPG at least.

I know what you mean. I would not trade my 11.1 det for any cat. I hear day & night on the road about the great power but dismal fuel mileage from cats. new & old cats.
