Default Insurance for intermodel

What do you need for insurance to pull cans? Can a broker get me loads or do I need to sign on as an owner operator for CSX or similar?

If you plan on dealing with brokers you will need motor carrier authority. You will need cargo and liability insurance to get your authority. Without at least 2 years of experience rates will be high if you can get it at all. If you lease to a carrier you will only need bobtail insurance. There are a few who may require unladen liability, which is similar to bobtail, but a little more expensive. Pulling containers is at the lowest end of the income scale in this business. There are other things you can pull which would pay more.
