But...This is what Im thinking is the problem. Somewhere there is a setting that is not correct probably within ATT or IE. Just not sure where to look.

Also, as LL pointed out about java. I tried to go to java website, typed it into my address bar, and nothing happened, as though I did nothing.

Try Internet options, advanced, check Java and MS VM settings.

I actually had firefox before the virus. Used it occassionally. Ill try and download it again. If that works, then I would be reasonalby certain its a setting in IE.

Since this is a 'freshly' reformatted and reinstalled windows, there would be no restore point. The problem that existed immediatly after the reformat/reinstall.

I think trying Firefox is the way to go. But my guess is that you've got outdated software, particularly if it's an older computer. I assume you're using Windows...head out to microsoft.com and do a complete software update. That'll get everything up to date and should solve the problem.

Firefox 3 is the way to go & then go to the "add ons" & download the AdBlocker Plus & Java & whatever else tickles your fancy & you'll find it's super easy to use...they even have an inbedded IE page for IE only pages you want to view.

Just finished downloading firefox...running it now.
My hotmail is working fine as well as all the other issues I was having.
That isolated the problem to IE. So...what is wrong with IE?????

Current version?

It's in the setting somewhere. All of mine are Custom so I have no idea what the standards are. Try lowering security and see what that does, or just use Firefox.
