So is National considered a hi-quality seat?
The truck I'm buying lacks as passenger seat. Well, actually the passenger seat replaced the drivers seat because the drivers seat was getting pretty beat up. But I'd like to stick a nice hi-qual seat in there for myself and move the other seat back to the passenger side.

I called the 800# and spoke to a rep. about the price, they said they were working on financing but the price is $5995...installation may or may not be included? I couldn't understand that, they have 4-5 places that install the seat and they won't sell it outright to you.

The price includes installation. The reason it has to be installed by one of their dealers is because it's much more technical than a regular seat installation. The last thing they want is a bunch of backyard wrenches installing their seat incorrectly and then complaining that it doesn't live up to Bose's claims.

I thought the new Bostrom line of seats performed just as well as the Bose seat. They now have a double-shock system, and you can get them in MANY different styles. At only $800 for the best one I saw, I'd take it over that Bose anyday. And yes, I did the simulator at the Bose both and it was very nice, but for the cost and the fact it's computer controled turned me off. Just like the re-gen system, if it acts up you have to take it to a dealer to have it fixed, you can't do it yourself.

They won't repair anything. As of right now, they would just swap out the seat.

Bostrom is using magnetic fluid technology, much like the Corvette shock absorber for ride control, there are magnetic particles in the oil, the more the shock moves the more the magnets energize to dampen the ride, it works great for cornering with a Corvette...I can't see it working fast enough for a seat, it's not computer controled. If you need a extra dose of the magnetic fluid just order a can of snake oil.

Waiting to get details on the finance package they're supposedly working on, I got to do something, I'm about shot. 8 years in a 69' RL 700, 6 years in a short wheelbase CH, finishing up in a 379 Pete....I'm done.

All this talk about electronic controlled seats and magnetic fluid makes me wonder......where the hell is my flying car? Everyone said we would be flying around by now in personal vehicles. Unless you got a AM-EX Black card I guess we will all just have to keep dreaming.

I'm looking for a seat myself, but none of the local dealers carry any variety at all. I'm pretty sure mine is a national seat, but I find it too high and too long for my needs. I can only inflate the air bag maybe an inch before it becomes uncomfortable, and the bottom cushion is too long for my needs. Yes I'm a little short, 5'8 with stumpy legs.
