What happened to GMAN?

Just wondering where he might be? Lots of other informative members have quit visiting or have been banned. Hope they haven't left for good. Something tells me if things dont change others will be following suit.

So... who are these " informative members who have quit visiting or been banned " ????

I am assuming that you only want warm and fuzzy, the sky is blue, and rose colored glasses responses ??? Well.... thats not the real world....

Gman always provides excellent info will and answer any question if he has the time.

You assume? Don't assume anything! I ask where GMAN was and now ur trying to pick apart my post!

Those members would be Ash, GMAN, and yes Steve was informative!

I dont look for warm and fuzzy responses. In fact, most of the time I don't even start threads to begin with. I do however, like to read some of the happenings and issues that are concerning the members here. That is why i was wondering where GMAN was.

Its no suprise to me at all that ur trying to stir up something here. Take ur b.s. elsewhere and find someone that wants to have a pissing match with ya cause I dont!

NotSteve 03-23-2008 05:59 PM

GMAN is ok. He's actually working. He got a boo boo on his leg and is a little under the weather.

scooter823 03-24-2008 03:32 AM

Good to see your still around NOTSTEVE, Peace Scooter

BanditsCousin 03-24-2008 09:52 AM

On a tangent, where did ArdmoreFarmsForever go? Its been at least a year or so since I seen him post.

Twilight Flyer 03-24-2008 10:00 AM

Josh disappeared quite some time ago. He popped up for a few days on the Truck.net board a couple months ago, but went back underground. I get the feeling that boards just don't hold much interest for him anymore. Can't say I disagree.

Darin Younce 03-24-2008 12:52 PM

Yeah, GMAN has got to stick around , I've been waiting for that 10,000th
post :) BTW Good to hear from you NotSteve, how are you not doing? Hope your not, not getting along well . Oh well, I,ll not carry on any more. :D

Good to see that you can post in a manner that will get you Notbanned.

Actually, nothing has changed. I'm just taking my time until I can find a new home that is capable of understanding the definition of one particular word I have in mind.

It shouldn't be to hard, even a ....well...I guess not.

I guess that makes you a homeless dweller.

that is capable of understanding the definition of one particular word I have in mind.
Might I suggest TruckNet or TheTruthAboutTrucking. I bet if you asked Mackman, he'd make you a modulator over on the FTT offsite forums. Then you can post your adventures all you want and delete out anything you don't like.

Twilight Flyer 03-25-2008 12:55 AM

There's also the knitting club over at truckstopusa.com. They've got 400 mods and 2 posters...I'm sure there's room for another mod.

I don't particularly care that you're back. I made it clear several times that you are welcome back under a new name and with a new start. Providing you can adhere to those standards that have always been in place, you're more than welcome to remain. If you cannot, then going elsewhere is your only other option, because there will be absolutely no quarter given if it happens again.

And that goes both ways, which you were never able to understand or accept.

So, the board standards have never changed and there will be no more discussion on it. Period. If you have a problem with that, allow me to show you the door.

Again.

Are you implying that you have always followed this rule?

What in the world am I thinking going into the Air Force! I'll be missing all this good action! This is way better than Soap Operas!

NotSteve 03-25-2008 06:03 AM

He will be back online tomorrow I'm pretty sure. Those 300 mile days have been murder on him. I think he's like 50 or something so that's wicked old ya know.

was it really necessary to call him out with the "again" comment? I haven't really followed the whole thing but I do know that you could have sent this message in a pm and served the same purpose. unless of course your point was to call him out in front of everyone to boost your self esteem? I think it was a low blow and I would expect someone in a "position of authority" to have a little more tact. just my .02

I wasn't aware that you were part of the moderating team or that it even concerned you?

A word of advice...don't go down that route. Steve is back and as long as he wants to be part of the community, he's welcome back. You probably want to leave it at that.

was it really necessary to call him out with all that proper punctuation? I haven't really followed the whole thing but I do know that you could have sent those periods and capital letters in a pm and served the same purpose. unless of course your point was to write logically and clearly in front of everyone to boost your self esteem? I think it was a low blow and I would expect someone in a "position of authority" to have a little more tact. just my .02

Steve glad to see you back around. I've missed my Steve stories with my morning coffee. If you leave you'll have to tell me where you're going. I still think you'd make a great blogger.

I would have pm'd this but as I read here instead of post I don't have the required posts in order to pm anyone, including a moderator. Weird.

Twilight Flyer 03-25-2008 09:41 AM

I've been telling him that for months.

You have to have 50 posts in order to PM. It was a measure put into place to help eliminate spam. What was happening is that spammers were signing up, but would never post a public thread. Instead, they would go right to sending spam PM's and we would never know until someone would tell us. By then, there were usually 100's of them out. So the post minimum was put into place to eliminate that. Ain't a spammer out there that's good enough to fake 50 posts in order to take a shot at spamming through PM's. :)

Twilight that makes sense, it just makes it diffucult when someone like me that reads alot but posts little has a question for a mod or another poster. But give me another 3 or 4 years and I'll be able to pm you :)

I appreciate everyone's concern. I have been on the road and suffered a fairly serious injury to my leg. I am doing OK, but it will take some time for the leg to heal completely.

Sorry to hear that you have been injured. Get well soon :)

geomon 03-25-2008 04:53 PM

Sorry to hear of the injury gman...hope you recover quickly.

heavyhaulerss 03-25-2008 07:00 PM

glad to know g-man is recovering. best wishes.

BanditsCousin 03-26-2008 11:18 AM

That is NO excuse for not posting. Millions of people wanted to buy trucks and lease to Werner, go lease a truck from England, get their own authority and have never shifted a gear, or wonder where to get freight except for getloaded.com. You let them down.

Just kidding, hope it heals up quickly. We missed ya.

Professor427 03-28-2008 03:41 PM

Gman,
Hope your injury heals quickly. Your constructive and rationale posts based on years of both business and trucking experience are sorely missed here.

Take care and best wishes

Thanks for all of your concerns. It is always more difficult when something happens on the road. At least it was my right leg rather than my clutch leg. There is still considerable swelling, so it appears that it will take some time to heal. I can function, but at a slower pace.

What happened?...You didnt take a misstep off the tractor did you?

Last time I talked to you, you were on your way out to Cali?
Thanks for the tip on those nursery tarps.
The guy had them in stock.
179 plus tax.

Hope you heal soon.

RostyC 03-29-2008 01:59 PM

Hope you feel better soon GMAN.

GMAN 03-29-2008 02:04 PM

Unfortunately, hoohaa, that is exactly what happened. I was standing on the catwalk watching the forklift operator instead of where I was stepping. I put my foot between the frame and fairing. I pulled my back and hurt my leg from near the pelvis all the way down to my foot. My leg swelled up about 1 1/2 times normal. I am trying to stay off of it as much as possible. It actually happened in California the day before I picked up my truck.

I am glad the guy had those nursery tarps. I hope you are staying busy and getting decent rates.

That sukks!
The reason I asked, because I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago.
Fortunatly I was able to get my right foot off in time, and I just fell on the ground, without my foot getting cought

Last year I did the same thing, and fell on my back on gravel..
THAT HURT!!

Yes 'm very busy now, and the rates are coming up as well.
Also brokers seem to be in need, so I can pretty much up the price that they are offering.

GMAN 03-29-2008 04:23 PM

I am glad that you didn't get hurt with your mishap. A friend of mine did the same thing, but his foot hit the drive shaft. It has been about 2 weeks since my incident and I still have a lot of swelling and bruising. A section on my leg just above my knee that is about 6" long and stands about 3-4'' high. It looks as though I have a balloon underneath my skin.

mommee 03-30-2008 01:16 AM

Sorry about your accident there. Hope you feel better soon. I was wondering what happened to you. Take it easy and let the kids do all the work for you and your wife.
