No...he goes to PRISON. ICC may be gone but the laws regarding interstate commerce are still in force (draconian though they may be).

His only legal option if they do not pay is to hold the load "hostage" pending payment (or retun to shipper if the request it)...with all the incumbent involvement of the bottom feeders....oops...lawyers and such. He will eventually be paid...just make sure that your btoom feeder....lawyer, attaches all the legal fees, storage fees, extra transportation and "inconvenience" fees (jack those puppies up to the moon) that you can to the judgement.

It is so much easier to just call them first and say "hey, this load is COD...have my (insert shippers accepted method of payment here) there when I get there....thank you sir, see you tomorrow at 3!!!!"

It is also a good idea to have it in your contract and tariff exactly how and what fees (like the previous poster suggested...a fee for COD sounds like a good idea>>>note for the file!) are connected with any COD arrangement...including backhauls if they don't pay(at a mighty inflated rate if you ask me!!!)...detention (if you have to wait for the proper payment instrument to be produced) or other conditions you may have.
They signed it....your bottom feeder can make it stick!

I dropped my load of copper off this morning in PA and tons of really tight spots. I think I'm way over the hump as far as worrying what's ahead. The roads at detours into residential streets, blocking lanes and inches on either side. Got to the customer site and what a dump. I sat there for almost 3 hours and nobody working at all. They were there, just walking around eating donuts, drinking coffee and pretty much goofing off. I complained to the guards who are suppose to make them aware that I needed to be unloaded.

I had pretty much had enough so I called the contact inside and told him either unload me or I'm putting the copper in storage. I was unloaded 10 minutes later. Last time I go to that pig pen.

Now I've been sitting at my pickup point since 10am. They quite at 5 here but will be working most of the night. There's tons of flatbeds waiting to get loaded. I'm next but will shut down right after getting loaded. Nice people here.

The load is half of a prefab steel building headed for Rock Springs Wyoming. Should be fun. I think it's 40,000 pounds and no tarp. I got another 12 faxes today to take some loads from PA. I tell ya, this is sure a hot spot for freight.

Met another flatbed driver today and he has a load going from FL to CA for the super bowl and is getting $6,000. He said someone screwed up and they need this stuff before the weekend!!! I think he's a crack head. No, not really, just pissed he's getting all that money. :lol:

Pretty cold here and snow flurries. Starting to get dark. It's going to be cold putting the straps on this load. Time for the Mad Bomber hat for sure!!!

Yep. Too bad getting back wasn't as easy as going out. I think a guy could do OK just doing NY, PA, OH, MD, MI, QC, ON and NJ. But it's cold, busy and hilly.

why would he be leaving florida to go to the superbowl? :shock:

and if you met him today how`s he gonna deliver on time anyway? the miles are doable I suppose if he had all day sunday or ran team but theres no way a truck is getting anywhere near the stadium past 8am sunday morning.
