You don't need to remove lug nuts, you need to remove a HUB nut, which is about 9/16".

After hauling 44,000 pounds for the last week my empty flatbed feels like a race car. Parked my truck and now it's stuck on this itsie bitsie little hill. Not even really a hill but all the ice we have I'm stuck. Don't care at this point. Stopped and got Chinese food, 2 shots of tequila, fire going, afghan and good night Irene for the last 2 hours!!!

My phone already rang twice here at home from brokers asking if I was available. How the HELL did they know I'm home!

I realized this morning that even though I'm home it's not a mini vacation. Every day that I'm home I'm sure that at least half my day will be involved with something to do with the truck. I'm sure all you old timers are nodding your head in agreement.

Yes, it did take me a while to figure out that pulling through the fuel island was a good guarantee that it's a path to the exit. I may be done with truck stops and start with rest areas. Not a big fan of the CB either. So much really bad talk and especially near NY, big surprise! But, the CB is really necessary for getting a heads up on trouble both ahead and with something wrong with your rig.
Glad to be home and time to restock and get ready to go out again.

My CB is rarely on... I think they are worthless. Truckstops are a neccesary evil, but I have a CFN account and a Pacific Pride account so I can usually avoid truck stops.

Pop the cap off, take off the bolt, put the Crossfire on, and put the cap back on. It'll fit. I've got them on mine.

Depending on the load board that you use, if you don't tell them to take you off the hot list, all brokers can pay a little extra to see the load searches that carriers do and the loads that they click on, so they have a good idea where you are and where you are looking to go.

Yes, I have looked on one of the load boards that I subscribe and have had brokers call me and ask if I have booked my truck in the area where I was just looking around. It set me back the first few times until I asked one of them and he told me that they could see where I was looking for a load. Of course, Steve, in your case there were probably some brokers watching the forum about your exploits and knew that you were home.

Do you get better prices than the truckstops with PP or CFN? Do you get discounts depending on how many gallons you buy through the year?

Steve,

I think your readers would find it interesting if you posted your revenue/expense/mileage numbers for the latest trip. I was keeping track for a while but I got busy and lost track...
