Sharp Honda!

No sports car here, but I do have a nice 2005 Chrysler Town and Country mini van. I traded in a hot 2003 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins that dyno'd out at 600hp, but it ate 3 trannies at $10,000 a pop. I figured my hot rod days were over and went with the mini van.

It was either that or a divorce, I love that mini van!

But, I just bought a a new 2007 motorhome, a 24' Coachmen Concord 235SO touring coach with all the bells and whistles, does that count?

What type of trannys cost 10k what type of work did you have done??? i got a 04 f-350 its on my myspace it has some little stuff done to it. I had the banks kit on it but i sold it. it was slowly taking a toll on everything in the drivetrain.

emerlin 12-04-2006 01:51 AM

Not an O/O.

Mine is a Subaru Impreza WRX. I'm hoping for 300+ wheel HP when I'm done. Shouldn't be much of a problem considering that some Japanese models had 300 crank HP.

Justruckin 12-04-2006 01:59 AM

I started with an ATS stage II, then a stage III, and finally went with a B&D full hi pro tranny. I should have kept it at that point, as I think the B&D would have held up fine. And I exagerated a bit on the costs, but it sure felt like 10 grand each time it was fixed

I think I had roughly $20,000.00 in trannies when I got rid of it. I loved that truck, but the way it ate those automatics, it was not worth keeping. And like I said, the wife was pissed. I mainly got rid of it to save my marrige. In fact she mentioned it the other day, and she is still mad!

very nice guys, keep them coming....

something to look at when i want to get away from the stress....

very very nice toys so far...

Teal 95 KW 12-04-2006 03:56 AM

Alice, very nice...Melvin is jealous....

I sold off all of my "toys" and then got bored with my '03 Chebby p/u...so I bought a new toy. '92 Mustang GT, performance red with titanium gray interior...BONE stock, old lady owned...so far it's been converted to 5-lug and has Baer Brakes on it. Maximum Motorsports Grip Box, re-paint, freshen up teh interior and a FTI custom grind cam, AFR 185's with a TFS Track Heat intake on a 331 for power. Going to keep this one more of a cruiser than my last one. Get a little carried away and you end up with a 840 rwhp car that's no fun to drive at all, and is about as reliable as a '74 Pinto.

Big John 12-04-2006 04:06 AM

The above car was a joke, but this is my pride and joy, this is the only thing I ever bought new except my big truck.

My husband is building a 62 Lincoln hardtop right now, but he's going for more of the rat rod look. Satin paint, hubcaps, mexican blankets on teh seats.. lol

Cool cars though, best of luck on yours! If you need any parts we know a guy who has 50+ of them for parts here in Nor. Cal. ;)

Here's a pic of my old 79' "lac" deville, outfitted with Pacer 20 inch black rims, the best sounding true dual flowmaster exhaust, and for a 79 this thing was in great condition, other than the mechanical issues that ran my pocket dry, which resulted in having to finally sell it. Hated to have to get rid of it, but i dumped a boat load of money in it, and was looking at having to do a transmission job, just couldn't afford that on a truckers salary :D Anyway, thought some of you might like it.

I thought about going that direction with the paint. It would have looked something like this (another photoshop I did):

I used to have an 03 wrx, the last of the bug eyed model. :) 300 whp is going to be hard to do with a stock 2.0 wrx. AWD soaks up a ton of hp and tq. Not to mention second gear on that 5 speed is really weak so might want to think about a stronger gear pack.
Have fun and good luck.

Whats a matter with a Harley not good enough for ya lol

Marmon man 12-23-2006 09:13 PM

actually, i did own a Harley. It was a 2000 peace officer special that i got brand new from The Harley Davidson shop of Indiana. It was fuel injected and i had a lot of work done on the motor and i just could not find anybody that could keep the sumbitch in tune. too rich or lean or breaking drive belts..try getting that fixed out on the road!..it was a frikin headache. trust me, leave a Harley alone! once you start dicking with it..well it's never the same again. I sold it to some dude from Canada a couple of years ago.
