You might want to reword that from "guys" to "people", or else you're next on somebody's hit list!

Do you plan to pull containers this summer? You can make it work if you pay off the truck and run it yourself till August. Then when you learn the ropes, you can put a driver in it while you teach and still make a dime while doing other busines (ie: teaching) and keeping your cartage contract active. BTW- daycab or sleeper?

Bunny: do you really double clutch, still?

Take a long walk off a short pier Bandit....I'm not a woman libber. Just trying to earning a living like the rest of you.....I just happen to be a female is all. You are probably one of the reasons it's been an uphill struggle. You just don't quite get it, do ya?

HorsePower 06-02-2006 07:20 PM

Bandit, I'm gettin' a sleeper.

Yes, I still double clutch, no I don't float, yes I know how to float but why? Yes, I drive a KW W900L, CAT 550 HP, twin turbos, 18 gears, in fact 18 gears is all I know. That is all I have ever driven. Anything else I can help you with?

BanditsCousin 06-02-2006 07:22 PM

Bush Bunny, enough is enough. Seriously.

You called me "newbie" (with a year and 1/2 driving) and I'm "just a kid" etc etc. re read your posts. Never did I bring up the fact you're a woman, EVER, nor hint at it, because gender and driving do not correlate. If I came out and said "you're just a woman" then all hell would break loose, but I don't care what you are...all we are, are PEOPLE. I've seen horrible women and men drivers. Don't jab me with "I'm just a kid" crap, okay? Discriminating on anyone due to race, age, religion, or gender is a no-no in today's business world, and even on the personal level.

BTW- my female helper has something to do with this, because she runs circles around some guys I hire, and thats why she gets paid more than them some days.

I was just wondering. It seems easier to me to go without the clutch. I miss the gear sometimes if I double clutch, because of "bad" timing. I guess that gets better with time.

I was just wondering. An innocent question, really...

No problem .... just has become habit. Habits are hard to break especially if the guy teaching you is a real stickler about clutching.

HorsePower 06-02-2006 07:29 PM

When going uphill especially, I find it hard to double clutch. It seems I "loose" some speed as I take the extra time for it in between the gears.

Enough was enough a long time ago Bandit....it amazes me on this forum why I can be teased to the end of the earth it's okay. But heaven forbid should I even try a tease I'm slapped.

I hear you loud and clear Bandit, won't darken your doorstep again.

I know not to post about you again. I'll steer clear.
