Default Any O/O hauling frac sand in PA?

I am looking to buy my own truck and want to haul sand either in PA or when drilling starts in NY. Looking for some advice. Thanks!

NO dump trailers, NONE it must delivered by a bulk tank, with a blower, the sand goes in silos, the blowers with the PTO and shaft drive run upwards of $8000.00 if you can even find them

Can't touch those trailers ($$$) since this nonsense began, the large oil companies have dibs on all of those build spots, the manufacturers can't build them fast enough, used ones have astronomical prices for junk and I mean junk

Those trucks and drivers sit more than they work, although they are paid hourly, most that I have talked to said it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, plus the roads into the drilling sites are dirt, and most trucks, water and sand are pulled in by a machine..........in short not worth messing with......just my opinion.

Oh yeah, Schneider, Quality Carriers, Smith Transport are ALREADY in there ahead of you.........what does that tell you about the rates?

Oh and by the way, I pull an end dump and I thank those guys everyday for keepin the DOT off my back.....Penn DOT luvs em too............LOL

I know of a few guys that went to PA, they are already back here in ND. I have not heard any good things about working a truck in PA.

Heck, I still can't figure out when they started haulin' logs on I-95.
However, I heard that FFE was doing oilfield work in Texas, but I never saw it. What ARE the pumpkins, Quick&Cheap, and Smiff getting paid for that?

Just wait until you get to a site that has a 15% grade on it. Yes - there are hills that steep around here. My last day in one of the mud trucks (tri-axle) involved delivering to a site at the top of a mountain with that kid of hill. It was paved, but damn, that sucked.
