Default Blue Beacon

I just went to their website and looked at the prices for truck and trailer wash. I'd like some feedback on them and if it's worth the fifty bucks. Also, do you pay before or after and what all do they do and what they use to wash trucks? Do they dry the truck also? All info would be appreciated.

Now, I usually wash my truck every weekend along with the other maintenance rituals I do but got a little lazy this weekend and didn't wash it. I might try a BB or just wait till I get back. The winter also makes it hard to keep up with every weekend. Sometimes it's just too damn cold.

Meh I can go to a DIY truck wash here locally and get it done for $20, maybe $25. Very good job, and I don't have to wait for hours like the blue beacons.

Never actually been to one myself.

Not really.

Before.

A lot of what they do is with the pressure washers. They will use brushes, but they don't normally do a great job of it. They are also horrible at rinsing, hence the nickname "Streakin Beacon."

No, they don't. I'll use Beacon in a pinch when there's nobody else around, and I just want to get a majority of the bugs off the truck. There's been plenty of times that I've stopped at a Beacon on my way home, had them do their quick once-over on the truck, and then brought it home and hand washed it to actually make it look good. They spit trucks out pretty fast. The old adage "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply to them. IMO, they are bottom of the barrel when it comes to truck washes.

I get what I pay for out of them. It usually costs me like 65 bucks for a tractor trailer wash with wheel brightner. The past few times I walked around the truck and had them touch up some spots. I think it is a decent wash, and I've never had to wait for hours. A few locations will hand dry it. The only 2 I can think of is Kingman, AZ and Bartsow, CA. The rest won't do it.

Littles Sister's in Thosand Palms, CA is pretty decent. Otherwise, I use the Blue Beacon so I can walk my dog, do paperwork, etc.

My dog loves that grass at the BB's!

Umm, the best thing about the BB's in this area is that they are FAST. I have been in some long lines but never waited for hours. Not even one hour. A long line at The Beacon doesn't mean waiting forever. The ones I have used have a large staff and they don't play around. I'm not as picky as some, I have always been satisfied with the job they have done.

I use them in the winter sometimes to get the salt and de-icer off the truck. They don't do a great job but in the winter I'm not that fussy. They usually have recycled water so I prefer to wash it in the morning when the water is fresh because it seems like the water gets acid in it during the day and you get worse streaks. I also give it a quick shammy if it's not too cold.

I usually go there for a trailer wash out. Get it done, let it dry and go pick up my load. Lately though it seems like the bean counters want me to just sweep it out instead of having it actually cleaned...

I think they do a "fair" job on average. Some are better than others. You just need to check the job they do and if it isn't up to par then have them redo it. You would think at the price they charge they would do an excellent job. Unfortunately, that isn't the case.
