Ever have this happen to you?
 

I had a pick up for a load anytime before midnight. I pull into the security drive about 5 past. I know all i have left to drive are 2 hours. I pull up behind ACME shipping (not really the name but u know) truck, and i sit there for close to 3-4 minutes. I finally get out, walk far enough away from my truck to see if the driver is actually in the security building. He is. I go back to my truck, wait for another couple minutes, then finally i get out, and walk toward the building. The driver sees me, so he then proceeds to continue in his conversation with the security guard walking toward the trailer of his truck, both men walk right past me, and i go stand in the doorway of the security building. Another minute, and the whole time i can hear them talking about meaningless Shatner, movies, and what not. So finally, i go walk toward the two guys, and stand next to them. The driver kinda looks at me like "you're not part of this conversation...." and he aparently got the message that his time was up and to roll on. The security guy then starts to jot my info down, and the previous driver actually has the nerve to come back and ask where to drop the empty trailer !!! I finally said, "...after all that talking, you didn't ever find out that one nugget of important information??!?" took me close to 30 minutes to do a drop an hook from the time i pulled the parking brake.

i then got on the CB and told the guy that i'm all for B.Sing, and shooting the Shatner, but when there are people behind you waiting in line (regardless of the number) to be a little more considerate. Waste as much of your time as you want, just dont waste someone elses.

no kevin..this only happens to you!!! i also am very impressed at the way you waited till he and u were both in your trucks going down the road before you actually confronted him about wasting your time. wouldnt wanna display your anger right there in front of him...he/she may have kicked your ass!

The funny part I found was you had to pick it up anytime before midnight and you rolled in at 5 after. And you want other people to be considerate? You, who self admitingly has given other drivers wrong directions and refused to move over let a car merge onto the road. Now you want people to be considerate?

actually, my previous loads drop was 3 hrs away, then headed to this pick up and traffic was backed up. Gee, go figure. And i may not have made it clear, i had not yet left the yard when i got on my CB. I was still at the shipper, and his truck was 100 ft away. He knew how annoyed i was when i walked toward him and the security guy and stood next to them. I wish he would have came over to my truck, cause i would have asked him, "are you really this stupid, or did you stay at a holiday inn express last night?"

what i find funny, is that almost in every thread i start, it is the same 'stupid' posts from the same 'stupid' people. almost like clockwork.

What I find funny is that you still keep posting some of the stupidest stuff on the site and then get all riled up when people call you out on it.
BTW, how's that 21 CPM working out for you?

I see this ***** all the time, Truckers talk smack once there out of clear sight of whom there talking to.... At Truck Stops, Weigh Stations, Etc.. There's some bold ones that will get out and talk some smack to you in your face but far and between..But yeah, i'm not surprise for the Kev to pull some B.S. like this...

I personally would of asked him if he was talking to me and then told him to get out..

AND IF KEVIN IS MAKING 42 CPM THEN I CAN SEE WHY THE SWIFT CHAPTER 13 TALK ALL THE TIME... Unless he's doing Heavy Haul in the west or something thats clearly BS!!

Geeepers!! In the past 16 years I ain't never nohow ever had nobody do nothin' rude! Dang sure not a "truck driver".....unless you count "dumbasses" that park on or in front of a fuel island and go eat lunch, take a shower or bs with their buddies for 30 minutes or so. Or unless you count the flaming jackasses that save up about 15 or 20 trips worth of paperwork to have the fuel desk scan them in at the same time....when there is only one person working the fuel desk. Or unless you count the jackass that overruns his fuel card limit and argues with the fuel desk person about how "this **** always happens to me".... Or unless you count the jackasses that get a key for the shower and instead of taking a shower...go and eat a meal before taking a shower. Or unless you are talking about the jackasses that take an hour to wash their nasty ass in the shower. Or you are talking about the nasty jackass that is too lazy to pick up the toilet seat and pisses all over it....or takes a dump and is to stupid or lazy to flush the toilet. Or unless you are talking about the dumb jackass that stares completely dumbfounded at the picture menu at Wendy's, Subway, McDonalds or whatever and takes forever to decide what to order, or the jackass who looks like a troll, acts like a troll, and smells like a pile of ****...who thinks he "Studly-do-right" and tries to put the make on the counter girl....who is looking at him like he is a troll... Nope, nothing like that ever happens to anyone else but you......

and again, we were still in the same yard, and in the mood i was in, i would have walked over to HIS truck and told him to his face to be a little more aware about anybody in line behind him. Would be no sifferent than being at a fuel island, seeing fairly heavy traffic, you get done fueling and pull up, but you see one open fuel bay next to you, and figure you've got the time to go take a dump, wash your hands, order Wendy's, scan two trips worth of paperwork, grab a case of water and some fruit..............oh just kidding, i bet you dont wash your hands.

not that it is any of your business, but i actually make .33cpm, and as much as .49 cpm. Figure everyone fibs when saying newbie swift drivers make .21cpm, i might as well say i make .42....and i actually make more (at times). check the pictures.....oh, and the other one i found must have been you just a few years ago. Just how much money did your mom make off posing you for pictures for ads???


oh skywalker....I've never taken an hour to shower, but i tell you what, when i'm in that shower, it's MINE, and if i need to take a crap, shave, then take a 15 minute shower, then i'm going to be in there for half an hour. I normally don't take nearly that long when i know there are 10 drivers waiting in line. But then again, i'm never one of those drivers who waits an hour for a shower. I'll continue on down the road, and take one when its not so busy.

Like i said, i'm all for B.S.ing with people from time to time, but i'm not going to do it when ANYBODY is behind me waiting. And when and if i happen to see someone is waiting, i get my Shatner taken care of. What annoyed me the most, was that this guy shot the breeze for what must have been 10-15 minutes, but the fact that he never bothered to get business out of the way first (where to drop the MT and where the loaded TRL was)....

I would seem that my "sarcasm" failed to make the multi-faceted point I was trying to make..... That was simply that there are "dicks with ears" no matter where you go.... I understand your point though, and can only tell you that I have learned to grin and bear it simply because "you can't fix stupid".....and the idiots are too dense to understand they are rude and stupid. I sat in Rincon Georgia being "helped" by the 3 poorest excuses for security gaurds on Friday. I told them who I was, who I was picking up for, and who I was to call in the Transportation Department when I got to the guard shack, But was told "You are not on our insurance list for contractors". I persisted long enough for them to "call somebody else" till I got the answer I needed. That I was covered under the company I was picking up for. These 3 wasted about 45 minutes of my day but I still thanked them for their "help" and went about my day. I dont know if I am getting calmer in my later years or I simply dont give a *uck any more. I got held up at the shipper, Your *hit will get there when I do.

I stood behind one guy at the fuel stop up from our terminal and listened for about 3 minutes while he put the moves on my friend. When he finally got to the question "so do you have a boyfriend" I piped up "she sure does and as soon as you move your ass she is going to get to talk to him". After he left she explained that he had been in the store about 3 times already that day hanging around the counter.

Wow,took ALMOST 30 minutes to do a drop and hook. Man i hope your day doesnt get any harder lol. You make it sound like this guy did everything but slash your tires to slow you down and then you end the story by saying it took you almost 30 minutes. You were able to get there,drop one,hook one, do a walk around pre-trip on the new load,update your log book and swap out whatever paper work was involved and wait and still got out after less than 30 minutes. man this guy must have really been talking up a storm and making you wait. 30 minutes lol You should be ashamed of this story if you were still able to get everything done 30 minutes.

lets see, i had no paperwork till i got back to the guard shack, my logbook i do on my laptop, so its as easy as a point and click.

the point of the story was how this driver was CLUELESS as to the fact that i was behind him, and yet he CONTINUED to chat up a storm. I've learned my lesson....next time i'm in that situation, i will walk straight up to him and say, "dude.....MOVE YOUR $#!T"

Maybe it is just me and my old age of 46 but I just look at things now with a view of I like to work smarter not harder. It seems to me if you are stressing over some guy Bull Sh.tting then you are working harder as you're mind will be caused to exert more energy during the time you are angry or frustrated or just concentrating on the current situation. Then you have to count the time you spent mulling over this guy to include all the time it took you to post you're frustrations. You're brain had to work overtime to adjust you're mindset to deal with this situation, All for what?????
You let a perfect stranger control a portion of you're life for a matter of two or three days just because he was not paying attention to what was behind him but rather enjoying some meanless conversation with another human being..

I'd tell you straight to your face, i have never bull s*itted with a security guard, held up the line just to finish my story. I dont get paid to make a friend in the security office. I might pop off a joke or something, but to sit there, and talk about the real meaning behind The DeVinci Code, and other movies worth seeing like a bad episode of Siskel and Ebert....come on.....i'm not that dumb. I like to get my crap taken care of, get my load and get on the road. If i want to kill time discussing the ramifications of what the country would have been like had the Union won the civil war.....i'd park my truck in a truck stop, and go in and wash my clothes and THEN strike up that conversation.

i am gonna stick up for kevin here. everyone brace yourselves. ok. he drives a 62 mile an hour truck..he aint got time to be ****in around. he needs to get into that shipper and line up all the trailers so there noses are lined up ina professional manner. this is the same kevin that wanted to take time to do that about 8 months ago..seems pretty time consuming to me. anyways..he also need to get rollin so he can turn into a closed street only to try to proceed to his destination on said closed street. that also seems time consuming to me. the argument with the construction worker, the call to 911 to try to get help backing out of the mess he put himself into, and then the conversation with the poilice officer. i dunno. he also is in a big hurry to get down the road and talk up the swifty lease purchase plan..ya'll know most everyone fails at them but good ole kev is probably to smart to fail at it. afterall...he thinks the reb's won the civil way. what a ****ing genius kev!!! keep them big wheels turnin there big guy. he also has the balls enough to post a check stub to prove that he makes 42 cents per mile..he dont even realize that he omly did that on one day wasting 88 mile trip. what a bonehead!!!
