i drove flatbed for 4 years hualing steel pipes and various metals. straps no chains.. so easy. u get used to tarping and strapping is common scense. some loads are ugly but youll make it safe. i drive van now and i wich i was flatbedding again. quicker unloads quicker loads easier to see no height restrictions........

i never drove a van and never want to. i went straight to flatbedding out of school. ive had to tarp, chain, strap, and pull oversize. not all loads are quick to load and unload, but most are.

for me, its the $$$$$$. i work for a good company that doesnt haul cheap freight and pays percentage. and does really push hard.

its nice because normally, i should have been pulling a van 48 states for pennies a mile, being a newbie. i am a lucky and grateful flatbedder.

whatever you do, be safe, be calm and cool, and learn from your mistakes. there will be mistakes, guaranteed

I pull a van. I thought about flatbedding but, I was always taught "work smarter not harder".

man you guys got it made, both flatbed and van. this one time i had to pull a 53' van and i really had to think about it when i pulled in the service plaza's in pa on the pike. forgot i did not have pups, 53 don't turn as good. that was alot of stress...you know thinking that much.
