So you're that screaming ***** with 80,000 flying up Donner (and smokin the brakes back down) that has left me white knuckled in the fast lane in my 4 wheeler when I was coming back from Reno.

Really folks, I'm just getting ready to start my training and will most likely be running the I-5 corridor since I live in Grants Pass. What kind of mileage will I be looking at here? I haven't decided on a company yet and will weigh all the benefits and pay when it gets closer to graduation.

You will likely average around 2,500-2,700 miles per week if you take the average for the year. Some weeks you may get over 3,000. During slow times of year perhaps as few as 1,800-2,200. You will take a few days off now and then, so I would go with the average. If you can get more miles, great. If not, then you won't be disappointed. Good luck.

We ran 5700 miles last week. Got home for 9 hours one night during the week and finished up around 3 am Sat morning for the weekend. Not bad for not even running 5 full days.

I know it doesn't answer your question well, but a different question could be "how much are you making" per week. cpm is different at some carriers. Time do have a talk with your dispatcher in a calm and professional manner.

I like how Heartland has salaried runs that guarantee a minimum weekly payment, or a higher weekly payment if you run more miles. Gotta keep drivers happy, or they leave. We all have bills to pay :)

I just ran 7500 miles in 15 days out last trip went home for a 36 hour reset and have been back on the road since wednesday the 31st. When I get to Edmonton tomorrow, I'll already be sitting at roughly 2600-2700 miles. It makes a world of difference on what you'll get for mileage if you don't turn down loads! Lately I've been getting my reloading assignment a day or two before I even make the drop that I'm on at the time the message comes across! I like it that way!!

Yoopr...heheeeeeeee...yeah..I was impressed. My first run with that Tractor, and I was pulling 43k westbound. There were two spots...I did kick down two gears....now that I think about it....but I could have left her dig in and do the 12g grunt.
Eastbound I was pulling frozen Chinese. I think they huddled all in the nose :lol: ....but anyway the weight was only like 34-36k.

Those grades coming up Eastbound out of Salt Lake...dropped me a couple gears.

I had a Volvo some years back with a big Cat that would pull like that. I think I'm gonna love this Tractor. :) Good jake in it too. If you keep her down around 55 on those 6%...she holds...and you only have to tap the brakes a couple times.
