Besides the CL;s you can only get mack motors and trannys.

I don't know what Mack is doing now, but years ago the '92 Mack I drove (CH613 ??) had a Rockwell tranny. It was a 9 speed that shifted in circles. I used to joke that I would have to relearn how to shift if I had to go back to an H pattern. It turned out not to be a joke. My company bought some new Volvos and I was one of the drivers sent to pick up the new trucks. For some stupid reason I couldn't find the shift pattern diagram. It wasn't pretty!! No one would have known my predicament except that one of the trucks wouldn't start so one of the drivers rode back with me. Now I had a witness to make me feel really stupid. We won't even mention the fact that the truck had high torque on the low end so was very easy to stall which, of course, I did several times.

As for who does or doesn't like Macks, add me to the list of Mack fans. :D :D A lot of drivers who say they don't like Macks haven't driven one. My husband drove for a company that had all Macks. A new driver hired on who had never driven a Mack. After a short time he had fallen in love!

:D I saw a picture of an old Mack (probably an early 50s model) long nose which was taken at a truck show. It had been restored and really looked sharp and looked as if it could still pull a heavy load. More than likely had one of those old dual stick shifters that some of the old salts tell horror stories about. 8)

I have always had a soft spot for Macks, thats all my father ever owned.
He bought his first new one in 1976

As for Petes and KWs they look nice but turning around in a tight spot or backing up can sometimes be a pain, or those damn cars that get in front of you and you can't see them, I know, I own one
found some one who has an old B model just sitting around, thought about buying it and restoring it, I'm sure my dad would have been proud to see his little girl in a Mack

Seems to me by all the replies that a Mack is a great off road truck, but it aint what the OTR driver wants. I've drove a 99 460 Mack, 99 Freightliner, 05 Pete and a 97 International and the last truck I want for OTR is the Mack. It aint smooth or quiet, but it will be great for the rocks and the sod.

vision tractors blow, and for some unknown reason to me their engines in otr truck can`t handle the consistent rpm but they live just live in local vehicles being abused and seeing all sorts of rpm`s.

thats why their always having a sale on muzzleloaders

ie a muzzleloader is sleeve, piston, rod, rings and bearings.
