Default Volvo 780 ...the boat !

This 780 Volvo has a boat like feel on corners as the cab dips on the air bags, I think the t-600/387 pete ride much better than the 780 ...And it has almost no storage space for tools and such ,as the side boxes are pretty small . But I can deal with the boat since it has a full fridge , 1800w inverter, tripak , lower bunk turns into table/seats ,and a bunch of other stuff ...It weighs in at 17,700 before fuel or bring along items ,which is only 350lbs more than a t-600 .

Buddy said the same thing when he bought a 780. He returned it and got a Freightshaker the next day because he didn't like that boat feel. Said it was a darn nice truck inside but he just wasn't comfortable with the handling he was feeling. Took a turn and nearly hit a car head-on because he started counter steering thinking he was starting a rollover when the cab dipped. He decided right then he was taking it back and getting another one.

I doubt you'd even notice it after driving for a week.

There are two different configurations for the 780 suspension: air all around, or leaf springs up front and air in back. The latter is the one I have and it makes a small difference in the lean. If I was to do it all over again, I'd go with all air in a heartbeat though for the nicer ride.

The smallish side boxes are a side effect of having the RV-style table in the rear. If you were certifiable you could keep the lower bunk made up as such and use the extra space in between for storage, but then that would defeat the purpose of having the nicest interior of any production truck out there

I have been trying to figure out for the longest time why all those Volvo's are missing half of their front bumper. At one point I started believing Swift bought their trucks that way to save money or something.
