Default No one will hire me!!!

Hey whats up? first time post.
So i just got my CDL on the 21 of this month, i put apps in at almost all the big otr companys, so far i think swift is the only one that will take me. Werner, Tmc, USA Truck, US Express and a couple others said that i was denied. I dont get it, i was in the Navy for 2 years, i thought that that would count for something, i guess not. IDK what to do, im sooo lost.

Well then go with Swift ...Heck out of the list of carriers you posted they are probably the best all around ,but that is not saying much considering that list .

Navy for 2 years Why just two years in the Nav? When did two year enlistments start? I think there's more. Take what you can get for employers as others have stated. BOL

There ya go. I hope you are ok. But, you never really know for sure until you ride in a truck all day for a few days bouncing on neglected concrete highways. The companies that denied you prolly figure its not worth the hassle. If you really want to drive...go with your best (or only) option for 6 months. Then try to move to more fertile ground.

The economy is tanking right now...

Get a job first....take whichever will do ya for awhile.

Don't wait...jobs will decrease over the next year....until things pickup again...

i had trouble findin a job too when i got my cdl in 03, because of my abstract. keep pushing applications through, a door will open. i actually landed a local gig for my first cdl job and stayed there for 4 years untill i moved onto my present gig. there are local companies who will take a chance on a noob.

There are all sorts of reasons why a company might turn you down. Age, where you live, driving history, criminal record, and employment history are just a few of the reasons. Also as mentioned a few times already the economy is such that there are a lot of experienced drivers on the market at this time plus all the other people out of work which makes it an employer's market allowing them to be very choosey who the hire.
