Default Cb Radio - Mic Tech

I'm looking to replace my factory mic with something better.

1. What convinced you to buy your current mic?
2. How much was it?
3. How do you like it?

How does a mic affect performance? I see many at the truck stops, but few give enough information to make a educated decision.

Astatic 636L is what i run on all my radios. both mobile in my tractor and in my pickup.

a good noise canceling mic is a life saver if you have a habit of driving wiht you window cracked for ventilation.

mine cost me 45 from my local cb shop.

its far better than an RK 56 in my opinion. those things feel cheap and i dont personally care for the PTT button.

Ditto what the above poster said on the Astatic mic.

Turner Roadking 56, is the original and only noise canceling mike that anyone should use.

Get a Road King. They cost $50., but you wont ever have to buy another one.
Astatic, or Static, is what I call them, they are ok, but I'd rather use a factory mic than one of them.

Sounds like you need a new mic.

If it's hard to hear, as if they are "far away", check your RF Gain. I keep mine turned all the way up. If people can't hear ya, check your Dynamike. You might turn it up. I can only turn mine about a little past half-way, due to feeding back.
