Ridgerunner, I agree with your tag 100%. I like it.
I am also a believer if your going to do something you best to enjoy it. If not, it will not do as good other wise... I rather do something I enjoy and barely make it than do something that I hate with a passion at any price.

Useless and coastie,
Thank you for your input about my tag line. I must give credit where credit is due. About 20 years ago my (now ) father-in-law gave me that little piece of advice. At the time I was chasing dollars, and did so for a few years after. Now I'm chasing dreams ( with a plan of course ).
Useless, what kind of company do you run? What you are doing for the people you employ is GREAT! You are giving them a gift that will serve them a life-time. My FIL had a passion for what he did and he had a very sucessful business based on one thing.....QUALITY. The second best thing I remember him telling me was something he later had printed on our business cards:
" The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of cheap price is forgotten".

I have always done what I enjoyed to do most.
My Parents also brought me up with good sound work ethics and a stable way of thinking.
My Dad would say, It doesn't matter what you do in life, long as what you do makes you happy, and son, whatever you choose to do...be the best you can be at it, and you will always hold your head high.
My Mom always told me to not chase after a woman. The woman I would be happy in life with, will come to me. She will love me and support me in whatever I choose to be or do in life. So, I need to only be myself, and be happy with my decisions.
But my Dad I think wanted me to be an Engineer....
My Mom wanted me to be a Doctor....
.......
ops: I wanted to be a Rock Star. :P
I ended up as a Piano Player in a CatHouse for a while...then used those skills to be a Porno King for a Glorious Summer in '74 ...Sausalito, California. 8)
After that...it's been a downhill slip...but I'm happy. :?

I am glad to see that there are many of us that all share the same beliefs. I am a strong believer that if you're not happy doing something, then what is the point of doing it? That you can be just as successful, if not more so, doing something that makes you happy.

imo. it's not always what you make, but what you do with what you make. i got laughed at when i moved south & took a job at a local plant for 5.15 an hour. i soon began teaching myself investing. started 50.00 a month in a mutual fund. then other ideas followed. 17 years & several homes later people dont beleive me when i tell them i started working at a chicken plant for 5.15 an hour. my buying my ole cabover truck in 99 for 15,000 is an example of (it's not what you make but what you do with what you make) i'm still driving it today. no major work ever done to it. after earning up to almost 200 % on some of my money, i took that profit & bought my truck trailer e.t.c.
