Default Winter slow down ?

New guy here was wondering if the trucking industry slows down during the winter months ? Are there slow times of the year normally or does it just depend on how the economy is going ? Dumb question maybe but I don't know. Thanks

You have your slow times and your high freight times. Just depends on a number of factors. Lately the freight has been a little slow but I believe it is starting to pick up.

The economy does play a big part in it, but here is the scary part. Normally the slow period for freight is the first 3-4 months of the year.

Depends on the economy, and on what you're hauling. Every kind of freight has its up swings and down swings. If your freight isn't dead in winter, it will probably be dead some other season. Furniture is dead in summer, because everybody is on vacation, but it stays stroking hard all winter, due to Christmas, and then tax refund season.

It's just going to depend.
