Kind of scary. Didn't have a truck available at my terminal so I came home for the weekend. Go back out Monday hopefully.

Still have issues with 90 degree backing my main problem seems to be setting up the back properly but that will come with time I am told. I know what I need to do to get it there actually setting it up is the problem. Although the guy who gave me my solo road test gave me some pointers I think will help.

Practice, practice,practice. Before you know It you'll be backing 90's and not even thinking twice about It. Best of luck.

Just take your time on set-up. if you set up any backing situation properly it becomes easy. Do not let other truckers rush you. Keep the cb off. Everybody has their good days and bad days.

In alldue respect neverlate i believe he schould keep the cb on while backing.
Always pick the easiest spot until your comfortable. dont be a show off,just my 2 cents

I just said to keep the cb off because he was new at this and I thought it would be a distraction. As he becomes more experienced he can decide what works better for him. There are some smart ass truckers who might tell him he is alright when he is not so that they can get their jollys by seeing him hit something. When in doudt G.O.A.L

i know what you mean i don't want no one helping me at all but when i started i welcomed all the help i could get since i basically had to teach myself instead of learning in training. which is probably the best way in my opinion,figuring it out for yourself.

Leave your CB ON!!!! I tried to tell a driver he was about to hit the truck next to me but he didn't have it on and guess what he hit the truck.. Get out and look. If someone starts talking junk just ignore him and listen out for someone saying stop. just my 2 cents

Hey KenO, this might be a first, but i have to agree with you about keeping the CB on, that thing can be the so called "eyes in the back of your head" when you're trying to get in to the spot at some of these truck stops. We as the driver can do our best to be as careful as possible, but there is no way we can see every angle of the truck we're backing, but that guy sitting in the spot you're parking next to, if nice enough and willing to give a hand, can give you that little bit of assistance you need to get it in there straight, and without hitting anything.
