Default What is DAC?

I'm sure I'll feel stupid when someone answers my question, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it means!

Yeah, checked there. Lots of posts on DAC, but none about what it means. Can anyone else answer this queston with something better than "Search, n00b?" Thanks.

DAC is just a repository of employment information that a lot of companies use to store info. The company is based out of Tulsa, OK, and is now actually called U.S.I.S.

Basically the way it works is companies send their employment info to them once a driver leaves their employment. Other potential employers can order this report and get a lot of the driver's job history all in one spot. The positives about the system is that with a centralized location, you can have a pretty good snapshot of a driver's work record in an hour. The downside is when personalities clash and a terminal manager or dispatcher decides to use DAC to get revenge on a driver he didn't like. Doesn't happen a lot, but happens enough to make people leery about the service.

Hope that helps.

Or are you asking what D.A.C. actually stands for? Not certain myself, but I believe originally it had something to do with Drug and Alcohol results.

The DAC report also gives criminal background on an applicant. Categories that a previous employer will answer and be found on a DAC are:

accident history?
quit while under a load?
abandoned equipment?
rehireable?
Drug/Alcohol testing? Refusal of testing?

The DAC/USIS report is basically another form of "credit report" just the "credit" is your reputation not financial.

If you mean what does DAC stand for , It stands for DRIVE A CHECK.
DAC is now called USIS - I don't know what that stands for.
