Default Parking your truck for the weekend.

Theirs this driver that parks his Rig on the off ramp from the highway. On I-55 outside STL I dont understand how this guy can get away with parking it their. I dont really care that he does it but sometimes it just sits their for weeks at a time. Im surprise he doesnt get the truck towed away or ticketed or some drunk runs into it. Do any of you guys park your trucks on the off ramp when your off?

I do not and do not know why this guy would. But there are some places that gives Truckers a hard time in parking. When I was driving, first I parked on a Road in town near the industry area, but the Masons cryed about it since they were building a place there. So I ended up parking a t a Convent Store/Truck Stop in town, unless I had a load, then I parked it at a Friends Trucking Company. That was funny to see.. A Flat Bed Company with another Company's Truck parked there with a Reefer running. Last Load I parked there, was a load of Coors Beer. When I went to get the Truck to make the delievery, they teased me saying they wanted to cut a hole in the floorboard..

I take truck and trl home with me , no trk stops or off ramps for peeple to mess with it. I see the same trks at the trk stops for weeks and they never move, that just clogs up parking for the working folks, I think if you can't park it at your terminal or your house then you deserve to have somebody mess with it... I like to know where it is so I can keep an eye on it.... and open a door and yell "get off my propery you s.o.b.", if I am not in my truck I like to be able to see it...

Before we moved to where we do now (renting a home right on the truck lot from the owner) we usually were able to talk to a store manager to park at the end of their lot or find a city lot (when we were in Davenport IA there were two open city lots just for parking big trucks and trailers in) always important to have a plan as to where that truck is going to parked and make sure it's done so legally too (would really be no good to go check on it and find it towed or damaged in some way or ticketed for being parked where it shouldn't be) I wouldn't want to even consider using an off ramp for extended parking time personally just doesn't sit right with me. Even here on the truck lot we have to keep an eye and ear out for people wanting to collect things from the trucks...some people sure can be brave..............when we've been in areas that we left the trucks at a local truck stop for awhile we still made a point to at least go by and people we'd trust to check in for us to just to make sure things were OK...just too much into it to let it sit somewhere unsafe, too many out there just waiting to collect things off an unattended vehicle of any sort............

For the winter dropping trl, with lock all around at Liquor store 1 mile down the road. Tractor plugged in at my house. Summer time trl and tractor at liquor store, with 100% permission from owner. He should be more then happy, give that man good amount of buisness once a month or so. Specialy during the summer months with all the BBQ'n. Those steaks need something wet to was them down.
