Missed the scale today in Spokane WA!
 

Construction
two lane in to one
heavy rain
bumper to bumper 20mph
orange vests on side of lanes
and I drove right by the bastered!
got pulled over 3 miles down the road and turned around.

nice enough to give me a fix it ticket with "failure to obey traffic control device" in the violation box....
No fine. No court date.....

Pay close attention going in to wa on 90.....

It's easy to happen during construction and heavy traffic conditions. You're not the first to have that happen.
But, now, they know you at "CSA-2010".:toilet:

Yep, the only thing a warning means now is that you won't have to pay a fine. With CSA it counts just as much as an actual ticket. That's more than likely 30 points for the next year right there.

on edit. traffic control device is a 5 point violation which would mean it's 15 points for the first year.

does any industry other then drivers deal with this kind of scrutiny? not that I know of....
I think it will soon be time to find something different to do for a living....and not have to be under the scope all day by not only the people I work for but also the government...

Missing a coop is easy to do. Especially if traffic is hot and heavy. Everyone is trying to get down the highway, and all of a sudden, the truck in front of you veers off to the right. When you look over there, it's too late. :eek1:

This is what you might do, if it happens again, if you get pulled over.
You might tell the officer that you were rolling down the interstate and you couldn't afford to be late. You saw the chicken coop, but you drove on by with Prepass. :D :p

You could always hang your keys up like i did and become a dispatcher. :smokin:

They're going overboard with safety in the wrong direction. 4-wheelers can still, pretty much, do as they please, and they account for most of the accidents.

And, that is exactly what they are doing.

Wait!!! Failing to stop at a weigh station is the same as running a Stop sign or traffic light?!? I know that driving pass an scale can be an expensive fine, but is it the equivalent of running a red light?

BTW, the scale you are talking about on I90 westbound is at exit 299. I think many drivers have missed that one since you have to exit the highway and it is located at the on-ramp. I have always wondered how many accidents have occurred at the flashing yellow light as trucks pass thru the intersection heading to the scale.

Fortunately(Or Unfortunately), Washington is building a new Super Coup less than a 1/2 mile west on I-90 that is ON the Interstate.

If I remember right, that scale only has one "Weigh Station Ahead" sign before you get to it and it's in Post Falls. Anytime I cross into another state, I have to be expecting a POE somewhere in the first 20 miles or so. Maybe "bumper to bumper" is not a good idea???
