20 Questions

I was reading a blog from an old friend of mine, and about a year ago, she did a series of blogs called "20 days of questions". She allowed one person to ask her any question about any subject on a given day, then answered it. Nothing was off limits. She ended up getting personal questions, questions on her beliefs of the world, questions regarding pop culture, etc.

So I figured what the heck - I'd give it a try. I'll probably regret it fairly quickly, but oh well.

The rules - one question per person only, please. No subject is off limits. I will answer to the best of my ability.

Have fun. :?

While I can't guarantee that I won't start my truck on fire again, I am making a conscious effort to prevent that from happening. If it does happen again, however, you can be sure that the results will get posted here.

Good question. The obvious answer is yes, because I haven't encountered everything yet. The realistic answer is, I only discuss things I know, therefore I know everything I discuss, ergo, I know everything.

Do you use the word "ergo" because you heard the Architect use it in the Matrix ? :P

Yes. I have a habit of quoting movie lines in everyday conversation. The other day I was having a text message conversation with Teal95KW regarding boobies, and I matter-of-factly stated, "Anything more than a handful, and you're risking a sprained tongue." That, of course, is from the movie "Weird Science".

fruitloop 07-26-2008 11:36 AM

How did the truck catch fire

Roadhog 07-26-2008 11:37 AM

Would you be willing to admit when you are wrong? :?

I would, and I have. Of course, it has only happened once. Honest.

Roadhog 07-26-2008 11:47 AM

would it be okay if I ask tomorrows question today? :)

BTW, I was expecting much more personal questions than this. I'm kind of shocked.

What is the worst thing you have ever done?

Syncrosonix 07-26-2008 12:55 PM

if you cloned yourself and had sex with the clone. would it be incest or masturbation?

GRRR@stolen question.

I would say the worst thing I have ever done is probably get a divorce. Not because of the divorce (I had my reasons for that), but because of how hard it is for my kids.

Question 9:

That's a tough one. The dictionary defines incest as "sexual intercourse between closely related persons", and masturbation as "the stimulation or manipulation of one's own genitals, esp. to orgasm; sexual self-gratification". Since you aren't technically related to yourself, I'm not sure that "incest" would apply. However, in the same light, masturbation is the manipulation of your own genitals, and technically, your clone's genitals are not yours, they belong to your clone, but since masturbation is "self gratification", technically it also applies because your clone is a copy of yourself.

I'm going to have to say that it would be considered both.

Have you ever contemplated suicide?

Syncrosonix 07-26-2008 01:32 PM

are you proud of yourself for restarting this trend of "20 questions"?

i'm kinda worried about what would be asked if i started a thread like that.

About 3 months after I filed for divorce, I got into a really bad depressive state, to the point that I rarely, if ever, left the bed. This went on for several months. At that point, I felt like ending it all. I am thankful that I managed to get myself out of that depression. Part of turning my life around was leaving Graebel and coming to Landstar. I'm still paying the price for that period of my life.

It's kind of liberating, to be honest. Some of these latter questions are really making me think about my life and myself. I'm curious as to where this will go, since I am at the halfway point.

Syncrosonix 07-26-2008 01:50 PM

what's behind the moniker "rev. vassago"?

Not an official question, because you already had yours.

Rev. = I'm an ordained minister. Yes, it's a mail-order ordination. I got it just so I could say that I was a minister.

Vassago = this page can explain it better than I can. I got it from the Dean Koontz book, "The Hideaway", which eventually was made into a really crappy movie.

Will you ever admit you and Steve Booth are best friends and it has all been a joke on the rest of CAD?

I've never met Steve Booth in real life, nor have I spoken to him on the phone, nor have I ever PM'ed him. So the answer to that question has to be no. Although it would really be funny if it were true.

matcat 07-26-2008 03:29 PM

How the hell do you actually get any drive time in when you are on CAD all day long?

Has anybody asked you what the dumb looking storage box is doing on the side of your truck or what that thing in your window is?

A very complex algorithmic ratio of driving vs. posting.

Actually, given the loads I haul, I tend to sit for extended periods of time until I get loaded, then I drive like a bat outta hell, then sit for more extended periods of time. Generally, any time I stop the truck and get on the net, I check CAD.

Nope. A couple of people who run the same runs I do have noticed that it is there, but that's about it. Most people don't even notice the AC unit until I physically point to it. Besides - I like the way my generator box looks. Much nicer than the POS Rigmaster boxes.
