The Repubs wanted the opposite and you Dems went the other way originally, now your backtracking and following what the Repubs wanted to begin with yet they were wrong and it's all their fault now?

That's why I posted this. Look at how fast they got the bailout through. And, NOW... NOW, they're going to close that door and make those responsible for the need of a bailout pay for it? NOW? They weren't thinking very clearly back then, were they? Originally Posted by golfhobo

It's along the lines of what Wind said Hobo but not limited to the Wall St mess, it's other things that have gone on over the last year and a piece also. Yes it can be chalked up to politics but stop blaming the other side for your indecisiveness. I've never seen this type of indecisiveness with our govt. They vote on something and then a few months later decide the way they voted wasn't correct so the rescind it or decide, "Hey wait, we need to also do this." Problem is, the citizens of this country were telling you that to begin with and you did not listen.
You know, they gave the auto makers a bailout and at the same time said that they would have to re-pay the loaned money. They did the same again with the banks who were struggling. Wall St got a free bailout though, only now is our govt. realizing that Wall St needs to re-pay that money also..............that should have been the next sentence out of the govt's mouth when they announced Wall St was getting a bailout.

And, when Wall Street was getting their bailout, and our "beloved" President stated that; "FAILURE SHALL NOT BE REWARDED", AIG would not have given out a couple of billion in bonuses if they were going to have to repay that loan. They did as they damned well pleased, and didn't even get a slap. Had it been a loan, failure would not have been rewarded.Originally Posted by Mr. Ford95
