Default Truck driver crosses median in KY, 11 dead

I personally witnessed a accident simular to this one in the exact same area on I-65 between 2 four wheelers. Just a dangerous section of road, terrible tradgedy.

A load of brake drums for trucks, by the looks of it. I would not expect a shifting load to be a factor. I've been through there a number of times myself. But, I don't remember if I ever got to see any accidents there. The only really bad location on I-65 in KY that I know of is quite a bit north of that.

it happened around 5 am this morning, there was light snow and it was right where 3 lanes go down to 2, so I imagine someone cut him off and he couldnt stop, that's just my guess

I am very familiar with that road. I figured that the driver probably dozed off and crossed the median when I first heard the story. If someone did cut him off I am sure that they didn't stick around. And since everyone involved is dead there is no way to tell with absolute certainty what happened. If the driver wasn't familiar with the road and the road narrowed he could have lost control if there was ice and snow on the road. In any case, it is so tragic that an entire family was wiped out in one accident. I believe that they were going to a wedding when this happened.

It would be nice to see posters using the spell check. I'm sure the tool was put there for a reason. Tragedy

We can only guess what happened, driver has died as well as the family in that van.

What a tragedy....

There aren't any sharp curves around that area. He very well could have had a heart attack or some other health problem. With him being killed we may never know the cause for sure. It is such a shame that so many were killed.

Sorry about the spelling, I'm just a dumb truck driver....

The thing I feel that is dangerous about that stretch is there isn't much median and with the rock walls so close to the highway there is little evasive manuverability.
