Default Mount Airy NC wreck 10-24-07

Did anyone else see the wreck yesterday at the northbound scale on I-77 in NC? It sure isn't pretty...

What really surprised me is that they lived.

I just read it. Interesting. Amazing how well those brakes work when you know how to use them.

I went past it not long after the wreck happened. They were still bringing in the HazMat crews and the 1st ambulance was leaving. It looked even worse seeing it directly.

It looked like the trailer snapped off and hit the back of the cab as well. The engine and transmission were on the ground under the cab.

It still amazes me that the people in the Covenant truck were able to climb out on their own.

And, ya - it's amazing how good brakes work if you actually use them.

one of the worst weigh stations for allowing trucks to back up on the highway, one of these wrecks could happen everyday

Ya - they have it in their heads that they can't flip the open/closed switch when the ramp is full. They need to make it automatic so it closes if the ramp fills up.
