IronTurkey, definitely impressed with that load of round bales... I wouldn't have wanted to be the person to load them, and tie them down... :shock: :lol:

You definitely don't want to take any sharp turns with that load... :lol:

Those round bales save you from lugging a lot of regular bales. But, you have to keep walking in circles around the things to un-wrap them to feed out, if you use them inside a milking barn... :roll: :lol: They're better in outdoor round feeders, then the cows can do all the work trying to pick at them... You still have to pull them apart a little bit, but outdoors the cows can work at them pretty good...

There sure are some pretty looking trucks out there... Not sure which one is my favorite so far... Although Shawnee's RED Kenworth caught my eye... Just a little partial to the color red is all... :wink:

Well keep those photo's coming, those trucks are looking good... :wink:

We take chip hauling VERY seriously on the west coast. :P

That combo goes to 88,500 gross and other 3 axle tractor/4 axle trailer combos the company has go to 96,500 gross. The empty weight for the 6 axle combo is about 28,000 and the empty weight on the 7 axle combo is about 34,000.

Yes, that's 30 tons net per load.

Drivers and trailer axlescould not exceed 75,500. That is the bridge law for that overweight vehicle.

Digital scales on the truck and trailer, plus full length scales at loading facilities. I liked to load to 45,800 tractor and 42,200 trailer. Wiggle room as they say.

Every driver become comfortable with their own truck and loading can be very easy and quick. Drop a little in the front. Drop a little in the back. Add some in the middle to bring it up close, then fine tune it. That is for heavy products. Green and dry shavings were a "box out" situation. Load the trailer completely full and go. 20 units at 7 cubic yards per unit and the gross weight loaded with shavings was near 60,000.

ahh, dry shavings on a warm day... You're nice a sweaty, you pull the doors open and RUN! or else you're going to be covered lke someone who got tared and feathered!

These are a couple of "bins" that we drive under for hogwood and shavings.





When it's time to unload we back up onto the dump. Release the brakes, undo the lines, unlatch the 5th wheel, pull out just enough so about half of the 5th wheel is showing (varies between trailer lengths) push a couple buttons and up you go. This is a load of shavings...

What's that picture at the bottom?... Is that a trailer of shavings being dumped into some kind of shed?... Never seen that before, look interesting...

We've got both just Trailer Dumps and both Trailer and Tractor dumps.
I used to haul chips up here and you forgot one thing-Turn off your engine on the Tractor/Trailer Dumps-I saw 2 times that someone new to the Dumping Procedure forgot to turn off their engines and when they were lifted no oil pressure=Gone engine

The dumps we had also had a Vibrator to shake out chips which was the cat's meow. We also put down a reallly fine film of oil on the Floors in the winter or you'd be in your trailer with a Shovel(Sucks)

Frystown All American(now a Petro). Exit 10 off I-78 That was taken almost two years ago but not much as changed on it
Should be getting a new truck soon though
