more power

I dont have a problem here , just curious.. a while back I had all new injectors put in & the overhead run. since that day, my truck has more power than it ever had. I mean a big difference. I bought truck with 400,000 on it & it had over 1.1 mil when the injectors were installed. I never thought I could get any more power out of what i thought was a wore out engine. & no it was already uprated to the max long ago. so that was not done. 2 things the shop mgr told me was, he put what he said was band-aid -o- rings with the injectors that are better than original -o- rings. and the truck does put out a lot more black smoke when i give it some fuel. I guess it's more bluish than black. so far it's not a problem. i take hills now without dropping at all, where as before on the same hills i would drop 1-2 gears. I also get better m.p.g now.

I had work done at neely coble freightliner in decatur al. Tim short. 2nd shift mgr took care of me. I have had the overhead ran there before & other places, but this is the first time in almost 10 years that my truck would move the way it does. I still cannot believe it. It was not expensive at all. though I had an injector go out, so I had them service the truck & put a new ecm wiring harness on while they were on the injectors. call them & they will give you a quoute over the phone. I dropped of at 3 p.m & it was completed at 10. and.... I didnt have to bring it back the nex day for any mistakes either. numbers are. 256(350-1630 256(301-1843

Did you tell them you were looking for power?? There are lots of ways to tweak a destroyit.

I did not tell them anything about power. just wanted all new injectors installed, along with the oil change, e.t.c. mgr mentioned the special -o- rings for high mileage enigines like mine, something to do with keeping leaks from accuring that may otherwise occur with standard -o- ring replacement.

Then, one would have to assume that your old injectors were beat. The 8-92 injector o-rings are installed on the injector barrel to keep compression away from the fuel rail seals, in the event that the spray tip seal fails.

1.3 mil on injectors. with the exception of 1 being replaced at 1.5 mil.
