Default Will DAC be put out of business in 2010?

DAC services, a subsidiary of USIS based in Tulsa, Ok has long been the "blunt instrument" of choice for blacklisting and background checks used in pre-employment screeening by Carriers hiring drivers.

Flash forward to 2010.. CSA 210- NIC Technologies of Olatha, Ks has been awarded the contract to be the "third party provider" and Keeper of the Index of the new Driver Safety Management System & Carrier Safety Scores... I.E. CSA 2010. Since NIC will have all Inspections, MVR, Drug Testing, Images of Driver DOT Long Forms, Accident Reports--- leaving only the Previous Employer Work history reports( I.E. Driver Work Proformance was- Sat., Unsatifactory, other) missing.

Will DAC be placed out of business in Favor of "one stop - shopping" by employers "pre-screening" potental new hires?

Since, the Social Security Administration can also provide Previous employer varification. Seems as if DAC will be left with only one useful piece of data- previous employer comments on "quality" of work, which is usually more accuately obtained --by directly contacting previous employers.

DAC or not....Either way....the spirit of the info remains the same.

The data base will reflect if you are legal to be hired...

or conversely to be let go from the job you already hold.

The Letters to drivers and companies will begin appearing shortly

revoking Authority to operate and revoking CDL privileges to who ever

doesn't measure up.

This is gonna get messy

As for Will DAC be replaced...well that's what my post has the ??? at the end... but, I'm speculating that it will or USIS will soon buy/take over the NIC company ... might be worth looking at the stock prices?

Off Topic, but now I hear every career-field seems to have its own form of blacklisting service.

Ive had two level three inspections in the last two years. On one my wheelbase was too short (tandems slid up too far) and the other one of my permits had expired. Anyone know how many points ill get?

Someone posted a link on this forum for how drivers and carriers will be rated. You may do a search to see if it pops up. Someone else may remember the link.
