Default Whats different between o/o and independent contractor

Im new to this just curious to know becuz i have my own truck and contract with a live haul plant and i thought owning your truck was an o/o.

Also talk to a couple guys, one guy said they is some big money loads on those load boards like around ($7,000-$10,000) is this true?

An owner operator is an independent contractor, but you don't have to own a truck to be considered an independent contractor. Do you contract with a shipper, trucking company or have your own authority? Loads paying that much are not usually advertised on load boards, however I have seen loads paying over $13,000 listed. Loads that pay that much are usually specialized.
