Default MPG guesses?

Juat bought another truck and curious what MPG you all think it will get. It has not yet been over the road with me yet. I have heard everything. It is a 1998 Volvo with 3.70 gear with 18 speed with 500 hp n14 cummins. Please give some educated guestimates for me. Thank you!

I'm going to guess around 5.5 to maybe 6 with that setup.

You're pulling skateboards aren't you? If so, and it gets less than 6mpg, maybe an overhead would be in order. Just a thought.

I have a friend who had a 98 Volvo that sounds almost identical to yours. I believe that he got around 7 mpg. It really got my goat because at the time I could only get 5 mpg with my Peterbilt and a Detroit 435 hp. Not only that but he could walk away and leave me in heavy head winds. I don't recall what he had for a gear ratio. He really loved that truck, but it was heavy.

Yeah I haul skateboards. It weights little over 20k lbs. I just bought aluminum Chapparal 48' trailer so hopefully that will keep weight down a lil.
