Default anybody rent a trailer here in the NW

I am consider renting a trailer for awhile till i make some money and buy my own. Anybody rent one before? what is a good price? What is a good place to get on?
The reason I ask is cause for the money they want me to put down I can rent one for some time and not have that extra payment each month. So it makes more sense to me to rent one and put zero down and have a monthly payment of a few hun rater then put 2k down and have a payment of a few hundred and maintaince on top of that.

You would be better off buying a good used trailer rather than renting one. You will find that most trailer rental companies will charge around $150-165/month plus a mileage charge. That is for a flat bed. I can't tell you about vans, however I would think the numbers would be similar. At least when you buy a trailer you will have it paid off and have some equity in something. If you rent, you have nothing to show for all the money you put in to it. If you rent, you may have to either put up a deposit or something like first and last payment, if you do a lease. I haven't checked on renting a trailer for some time, but the numbers I gave should be in the ball park. There are several companies who rent trailers. Xtra lease and TIP are two companies that come to mind. Some of the trailer dealers may also rent trailers. You might check with Wabash, Great Dane, etc., dealers in your area. Some may require a certain amount of finds in the bank before they will rent a trailer to you. As I said, it has been some time but, when I last checked one company told me that I would need $20,000 in the bank before they would rent me a trailer unless I had an established corporation.

I see a lot of people renting van trailers from TIP, maybe try with them?

after shopping for new and used trailers for the past few months, in my humble opinion, 53' step decks (al or combos) hold their value quite well. I've seen several used (3-5 years old) for $25+. They're $30-35 new.

Ryder charges like $30 a day. Is the benefit worth the expense?

As noted above, people are leasing. Xtra lease is also a good choice.
