Each company, has it's own agreement with the shippers, as how to calculate a FSC.
So, it depends on a National average fuel price, and that agreement.

As of right now, $0.30cpm FSC, seems to be a bit high, but it goes up, when the fuel price is.

That sounds about right for when I was driving there (eariler this year). We ran a dedicated team run that was about 5300 miles a week (impossible to get as a new leased on O/O, everything at fdx works off of senority).

Depends what you are looking for.

If you are lookihg for "easy", it's OK, but if you are looking for "better"...
definatly, not the case.
And i wouldn't even mention "great", in that sentence! :P

I'm not looking for easy at all :-) I was actually interested into getting into HHG but since I don't have any experience in HHG it looks like I can't do that.

Thanks for the input. I don't know what I'm going to do, I might just stay with my current company for another couple years.

Not saying that at all. Its all drop and hook and while I was there we only had one overnight layover ever, usually you show up at a terminal and are out of there within a hour. Its smooth running there. Want set fuel prices, there ya go. Miles for solo and teams are not super duper, but everyone I know who is leased on with them is working and making their truck payments and a reasonable living. They give you saftey bonus, yearly pay increases, maintance discounts, ect. My buddy runs 3 trucks with them, one is on a dedicated team run, one is running a dedicated morning run and also running as a local truck in the evenings and one is a floater (OTR) team truck. He's been there since the days of RPS and is happy running for them.

Downside - hard as heck to get drivers to work for you due to driver qualification standards and long waiting periods for applications to be approved (up to 2 mos, at least its that way at the Sacramento hub).

Best bet is to check em out for yourself in person (as with any company), and talk with other O/O's that are signed on at the hub you will be working out of. This will give you a clear picture if ground is right for you.

Well I've never done the O/O thing so I would have to buy a truck. Just worried about doing so and then getting stuck holding the bag if ya know what I mean. Sounds like their fuel incentive is not as good as some other companies?

Here is another question, they say fuel is max $1.27 a gallon or something like that. Do they just reimburse you? Or do they give you a fuel card? Reason I ask, is if I could use my discover cash back bonus card for fuel, that would be kind of a good deal.

They give you a fuel card (T check) to use and take the money out of your settlement as far as I know.
