And....The TV shows were the best. Black and White was all we knew, and how did we ever get along with only one TV in the house and no remote control????
10-4 Drew10! We should be dead! Rock fights, chicken fights
And don't forget computers, cell phones and all the other stuff we didn't have....of course we all played outside until well after dark,no fat kids then ,well not many anyway. You said Yes Sir,Yes Mam and no in the same manner or got yer arse beat,it wasn't child abuse then it was disiplin(sp?).The list goes on.
Ain't that the truth! The kids now don't know how to "Play", everthing they have plays for them! We spent half a summer playing with the box when my neighbor got a new refrigerator. It was everthing from a fort to a "sled" that we pulled each other around on with a horse. We set up our own rodeos and parades and built a tree house out in the woods with scraps we found around the neighborhood. We made up our own stuff to do! We didn't have Mom driving us all over the place, we walked or rode our bikes. And any of the neighbors could discipline us and then we got it again when we got home.

I can't believe the way I hear kids talk to their parents now. I wouldn't have had a tooth left in my head if I talked to my Mom that way! And how many of you have had you mouth washed out with soap????

I remember using the box as a sled, at the top of the stairs. I put my brother in front, I shouldn't laugh, but I remember he wasn't right for the rest of the day. Those were the days!!!

I remember those well. How bout "Kill the guy with the ball". We used a football tossed it up in the air, whoever caught it had to avoid everybody else (could have been 5or6 of us)for as long as he could, while holding the football. Basically turned into a football style game but with 5 or so kids against 1 with the ball. Got pretty physical and brutal, or a similar game "Smear the Queer", wouldnt be Polically Correct today, to be yelling that out.

Smear the Queer, that brings the memory back. Did you ever play Army with the Daisy BB guns, smoke bombs and fireworks? Like you said, if you did any of that now and days, you'd have someones parents lawyers all over you. Now and days, your lucky if the kids go outside.

Can you imagine having only 13 channels to watch before cable? I remember how often my parents would yell at us for turning the knob on the tv too fast.

Try buying toys today that don't run on batteries. That's what I told everyone this Christmas. No toys that need batteries.

Never heard of smear the queer......sounds like fun though.........PC? who cares....they(homos) just ain't right! We played a game called vampires...sorta like hide and go seek...only everyone who got caught became a vampire and you'd have maybe 10 kids looking for ya instead of one. The girls made it more fun cuz if you had to chase them you might grab a budding booby my "accident" 8)

I found some toys. The Thomas legos. People gave me lots of Hot Wheels and Cars sets. I found a wood parking garage too at FAO Schwartz. Crafts stuff for my daughter. I forget the others things now. And my aunt, as a joke gave us batteries.

If you look you can find them.

I guess not! When my cousins kids are here and I tell them to go out and play they just give me these blank stupid looks. They have no idea what I'm talking about. I make them go outside anyway and they just sit there! It's scary...

It sounds familiar, but I don't know. Who lives there? Yes, on a nice day I can see the kids down the street playing basketball. Yesterday was warm and beautiful. My kids were out and saw some riding there bike too.

I'm the one who wants a Playstation 2 so I can get Guitar Hero. It's a great stress reliever, for me at least.
