Default Food Grade Tanker Outfits..

Hey Drivers.

I've been driving a little over 8 years now and am thinking of getting into tankers.

I have the tankers endorsement but no experience.Been pulling reefer all this time.

I got fingerprinted for TWIC on Jan 30th and Hazmat 3 weeks ago..Still waiting on both.

In the meantime I gotta make a move quick, work is real slow and I'm only driving a day or two a week. We're almost in a critical state cash wise.Just about wiped out the savings.

Originally,I was gonna go with I was gonna go with Indian River Transport, but I read some horrifying stuff about them on here and another board. When I called the recruiter, and hit her with my list of questions,I wasn't too impressed.Especially the only 2 day off policy regardless how long you been out.The 32cpm wasn't turning me on either. They do seem to have miles though.

Spoke with Oakley, and no dice.Gotta be able to get into Canada.I got a DUI in 94 and that aint gonna happen.

Can anyone recommend a decent food grade carrier that will hire out of the Northeast?

Thanks for any help.

I don't think foodliner pays bad...i know guys working out of yonkers, ny that are on the $1200 a week salary. It's not a bad deal...unless you are late for appointments or knock off of work...then i think you get whatever the load pays. I think they have electronic logs now though which might be a pain.
