Default Fun day

What a fun way to start the day... Started the day in Troutman, NC, drove to Catawba, SC for a d/h, got some fuel/scaled and made it to about 5 miles west of Shelby, NC on the way to Nashville when I had a blowout. Not just 1 drive tire, but 2. They both went full-force explosion at the same time. Up until last month, I've never had a drive tire blow out in 11 years, now I've had 3 in as many weeks.

Lucky you Mal that you didn't wipe out. Probably a good thing they went together at the same time since a single blow out will yank you hard to that side.

When they went, my first thought was a steer tire because of the way it jerked me to the left (left rear drives). I don't want to experience that again anytime soon.

I'm sorry Mal, I totally mis-read you first post. I thought you said steer tires, my fault. Not a good thing that two drive's go out together. Probably had 1 let go and it instantly took the other with it.

No worries on the misreading - happens all the time.

Picking up a load in TN right now and guess what? Stupid AC died AGAIN. This is the 6th time since I got the truck April 1st of last year. A week and a half ago my AC system was completely rebuilt (new compressor, condensor, evaporator and lines). It does keep me from going to Chicago, though, since I have to go to our Indy terminal now.

I might as well mention that the turbo is ready to blow out on the truck. When I'm under a heavy load (accel or decel), the turbo is literally screaming to the point that you can't even hear the radio inside of the truck.

Talked to truck assignment on the phone and they told me to come into their office when I get to Indy. Hoping for a new truck (fingers crossed).

Probably end up with a 3 year old worn out POS. Or they are going to ream you out for continuing to break the truck even though it's not your fault.

Ughhh - just checked the truck into the shop. They're saying late tomorrow, possibly Wed b4 it goes in.

But, I see 200+ brand new tractors sitting ready to roll. So, will talk to equipment tomorrow.
