    Default Laptop computer problem

I was wondering what any of you do to keep your laptop cool while you are on it? The experts say if you let it run hot you will ruin it. Any suggestions?
Chrome might not get you home but it might get ya laid (over polishing in a parking lot). lol

there's add on fans you can get that the laptop sits on...Your laptop should stay cool enough during use unless the room temp is very hot or you are setting the thing on your lap and blocking the air- intake.

I thought I had heard of something called a cool pack or something that you sit the laptop on and it keeps it cool. My fan kicks on but the bottom of my laptop is still really hot to the touch.

we use a chill pad (walmart about $30) it's about 1/2" thick has 2 fans in it and it powers off the usb. it does a good job of keeping it cooler.

we have a 100w inverter for the laptop that has a usb power plug so our chill pad runs off the inverter but it will run off the laptop if we need it to.

our gps runs on the other laptop (no chill pad) it running for days at a time without being turned off and it has never gotten to hot (in over 1.5 years)

Yeah...don't fry your CPU. The cool pad thing sells at Staples.

Also...get the thing cleaned. The fan collects a lot of dust. It's probably packed with dust in there, that is why it is getting that hot...or your fan needs to be replaced.

I have a chill pad. Dual fans and it just plugs into your usb port. Cost $19.99 on sale at walmart (24.99 regular price)

If you've got the notebook on and decide to take a break (meal, stretch, etc.), DON'T set it on your bunk (especially on a blanket, sleeping bag, etc.) until you've turned it off. Otherwise you may return and find your 'puter puked, sizzled, and fried. Heat stroke is bad for both people and computers.
