Default Speeding ticket question

Alright, just a question for now, but how bad is a speeding ticket for 9 miles over in a CMV? Just wondering how much damage just it could do to hireability.

Shouldn't be any serious problem, as long as it is an isolated situation; let the tickets start racking up, or combine it with other incidents, and it could become problematic/

Seems "someone" has a lead foot!

Racking them up WILL be a problem, yes. But, the IMPORTANT thing to remember is that a ticket for 15 over is considered a MAJOR violation, and it takes ONLY 2 of them to get a 6 month suspension of your CDL!

And there are OTHER violations that will qualify. Tell "someone" to at least try NOT to get caught doing 15 over..... and learn the OTHER violations that the fmcsa considers "major," so as to avoid ANY of them!

Not only can NONE of us afford a 6 month suspension, and the probable loss of job that would come with it, but THAT - I would think - would become a "hireability" issue!

Now.... Hobo.... read that to YOURSELF TEN times before going to bed tonight!

Thank GOD I don't have a "triple digit truck!"

"someone" wasn't watching close enough going down a 5% grade in PA...tagged for 74 in a 65...only happened cuz of the grade, otherwise he's governed at 68..
Same "someone" better be more careful!

I thought that 15mph. wasn't good, but I was unaware of the fact that it was a "job killer". Now, I knew that OVER 15 was a serious problem.....

Perhaps some of you could educate me????

Thanks

Didn't actually SAY it was a jobkiller, although hard to hold a job with a suspended license. However.... CORRECTION!!!! It is a 60 day - or TWO month suspension (not 6) for any TWO convictions of:

"excessive speeding of 15 OR MORE mph over the posted limit."

Or a combination of one of those, and another from the list...(or any two within 3 years).... reckless driving, erratic lane changes, following too closely, not having your CDL ON YOUR PERSON, or not having the proper "classifications" for the equipment you are driving.

Edumacated now????

Yep....sounds like Pennsylvania!
Dang Bears like to hide at the bottoms of steep grades for Trucks.
Lots of guy's let the speed spill out at the bottom, rather than heat up their brakes....long as its like 75-80mph...and Penn Hwy. 80 speed limit is 65.

I was popped for 15 over (50 in a 35) I got a 2 day no pay vacation and a letter in my file plus my car insurance went up $800. I learned to watch the hill coming out of that yard.
