women truckers with pets
 

My wife brought up a point this morning about women truckers and safety. how many lady truckers out there have a dog with them? My wife says she wouldn't drive anywhere without a dog. but then again, she loves her baby, I mean her dog. If it were me or the dog, I guess I'd better have a fur jacket... :lol: :lol:

Once in a while I take my dog along with me. She's a big baby though. LOL She'd lick a person to death first before she ever bit someone in my defense. She's only 1 1/2 yrs. old and a purebred siberian husky.

I take my dog with me, out of necessity, no one else to watch him. He barks and growls at strangers, little do they know, it is his excitement showing, but, no matter what it does the job.

Thats alright, very beautiful dog. Also, might not ever attack anyone but they don't need to know that, lol.

Started out bringing her with me because I had no one to care for her. Ended up keeping her with me because she loved the truck, and she saved my rear end on at least two occasions I can recall. She also used to protect the trucks to either side of me - and would use all the mirrors on the cab to alert me to goings on with the trailer doors when I was driving van.

Thanks... I've contemplated it, but right now there's a lot of my life that's up in the air, and honestly it wouldn't be right to take another animal in right now when I'm trying to figure out how to care for myself! :wink:

I will say though, she was a rescue from a Knoxville, TN kill shelter, and the best dog I've ever known. To anyone thinking of getting an animal, please consider giving one a home that is sitting in a shelter.

Even though I team drive (not right now though) I always take my little girl. She's tiny, but is someone would come up to the truck and tap on the window, I swear if there wasn't glass between them, she would rip their arm off. The only pic I have of her is my avatar, all the others are on the other computer.

Even though I'm a guy, here's my team partner. :)

Thanks. Even though he is only 10#, he thinks he's a dobbie. Anybody comes even close to the truck and he's ready to rip a body part off.

But if you toss him his ball... you've become his best friend. :)

I dread the day I lose him. He and I have been through a lot in the past eight and a half years. That's the part of pet ownership I don't like.

this is Sir Zion .... a mini - he weights 9 pds and thinks he's just as big as any big dog around .... I've met several female drivers with their dogs,.... they really help to take care of the lonely days when theirs no one to talk to that you trust. As well as the fact they need to get out to take care of their business - it makes you stop and stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air .... so if you can ... take your pet.

We have a pure bread St. Bernard she is the best dog you could ever ask for.

He is so cute@@ I love Dashounds (I never spell that right). We raised two from when they were pups until the last one passsed a few months ago (she was 17 believe it or not). Mom has two more now. They are the most precious things. Even though she isn't one, I love my Miss Maddie to death!

My papa always says that if a dog doesn't like you - somethings not right!!! They are so wonderful and can sense "untrustworthy" or "questionable" people. God Bless all the critters!!! :D

I think a woman trucker would make a nice pet for me in my truck... :lol:

We have a Spoiled Rotten Queen Cat, that has Everything, and she is coming on the Truck with us. :D
I LOVE to Brag about her, as she is SOOO Adorable! :lol:
Everyone on the Road will likely get to see her, as she will often likely ride on the Dash Board.
Just scratch her in the right place, and you have her Friendship for LIFE! :lol:

I don't know what it is but any dog with those kid of eyes always gave me the heebyjebees, and I love dogs.

The babies sure help keep you warm!!! I have two miniature Boston terriers that snuggle up to me at night - it's comical!!! Lately it's been so darn cold in Ohio- I'm glad to have 'em!!! :D

This one is Sassy, she is a terrier mix. she was born in 1991. She's about to die. I think she had a stroke or something a little while ago, she is in worse shape than the photo now, she isn't moving very well; she basically needs 24hr care. I had another dog, Coco; he was a chocolate beagledore that was her mate, I grew up with him since 1988 until he was killed in 2001. :( I don't have any photo's of him on this computer.

Doja looks way under-fed--Ha Ha!! She is cute- whatever she is. Sassy is a doll baby- - My one Boston terrier is getting older- the white hair is coming out and he seems to be losing some sight. I have a really hard time thinking about it, but i know he can't stay forever. Wish they could!! I wish I could show pictures. I really appreciate them. They brighten my day !!! Than You so much!!! :D

Well, Sassy did pass yesterday. I got a phone call why I was sitting here in TX. She was buried near Coco

Sorry about Sassy! I'm sure you'll miss her. I know she was very lucky to have an owner that cared so much!!!

Does anyone out there have a Boston Terrier traveling with them? I'd love to see a picture!!!

I am really needing to see some pictures or hear a cute story about the babies out there. My boys are a trip!! I have 2 dogs and 3 cats all together. The 2 that I adopted around the same time actually wrestle. The cat was already named Dennis(I call him Dennis the Menace) and the Boston terrier was named Finney( I modified it to Vinny) Vinny will sneak up on Dennis and gently pull him by the tail off of wherever he's perched to mess with him. Dennis has been caught sneaking up on Vinny and pouncing on him- he tries to box him (thank goodness he is de-clawed) The other animals just look at those two like they are crazy. All my babies are male, including my only son who is turning 18 in July(hard to believe!!) I keep getting younger - HaHa Someone please write OK :wink: :D

Are my fellow pet lovers still out there?! Hopefully Spring will come soon and the babies will get out more! My dogs like to take me for a walk when it's nice out. They are a handful, but they help keep me going. I don't think I'd get out and walk as much without them. Someone please comment so I know you're out there!!! :!: :D
