City Horn

Well, I got power to the horn, but the horn does not blow. There's no ground wire coming off the horn. I tried to ground it but it still does not blow. If I tap on the horn some rusty debris comes out, very small. I've never seen inside a horn before can they get stuck? The only two things I can think of is ground wire or the horn itself.

What do you think?

The horn frame itself is the ground. You can take the horn off the truck and hook up some jumper cables from your cars battery to test it. Hook the ground jumper to the frame of the horn then touch the plus jumper cable to where the wire connects.

You can just waltz into any auto parts store and buy ANY horn and it should work fine. I would suggest getting a Ford Mustang horn, very loud!!

Well, yes your right. When the horn is screwed to the truck it makes the ground connection with the truck. When you hold the horn in your hands the horn frame is the ground.

Don't be surprised when you drop the horn out of fright when you connect the jumper to it and it goes off!!!! ha

Don't worry, you can't get a shock from DC voltage.
