Why is the demand so high?

I would say its due to the term “global war on terror”.

If you asked Obama or secretary for homeland security Janet Napolitano,
I'd bet they would say its due to “overseas contingency operations” and
“man-caused distasters”.

Most of this stuff is pretty close. KBR was set to hire me and I backed out. Wish I hadnt. Pay was about $100,000/yr with the first $84,000 or so tax free. They paid for everything including a leave in the middle of the 1 yr contract. They would fly you anywhere you wanted to take the leave and fly you back. Some came home. Some went to Australia or South Africa or wherever. Live in barracks or tents. Food paid.

Talked to one lady who did it for 3 years and she made better than $300,000. Loved it.

Why did I back out? Only because the job was in a war zone and they would not let me carry my own sidearm. I can provide my own from the several that I have, have been in the military and am a pretty good shot but the rule is the drivers can't be armed so I said no thanks.

My girlfriend talked to a husband/wife combo that did it a couple weeks ago. They told her that they are hiring now because contracts come up in the fall and they need bodies to fill them so if your thinking of going now is the time to apply
