Same thing with FEDEX drivers who should be joining the union soon if those guys stick together.

That would be good for the industry and all truck drivers if FEDEX goes union.

Um....sorta like the way YRC driver base, is majority "Union" drivers, and doing really really well?

Consolidated Freightways was a "Union" driver company...as WERE, PIE and Ranger and Inway and Gemini??

CornFlakes....they went "Out of business" to become "Con-way Freight" didn't they??

And PIE / Ranger / Inway / Gemini......where did they go?? Ooooh...that's right.......Landstar is what remains of those companies!!

The Teamsters worked out well for all of them. Yup.

But wait........The Teamsters just gave huge concessions to YRC, so that YRC can try and survive......of course....The "Teamsters" aquired a huge stake in YRC.

Yeah....that is going to work out really well for the "Drivers"! NOT!!! That is going to work for the YRC driver's, in the same way that United Airlines worked out, with the Pilot's Union being the majority stakeholder of United Airlines! It didn't!    The only one's who made any money in that deal, were the "Pilots Union" management, and a select few others, in the other United "Employee Union" management systems!!!
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Unions!!!! Greed is alive and well in America!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Even the little things can get turned around on you..Thanks for the kind sentiment about the divorce..don't know what happened. She had her mid-life crisis and just decided I was no longer good enough, so life goes on...Dating at my age kind of sucks though, I'm clueless....

Maybe you could join a Dating Union

Don't forget that YRC has to compete with morons that want to go bankrupt and haul freight just to pay for fuel !!!

I'm sure YRC drivers make a hell of a lot more than the Werner kids that just got out of high school last week !!!

All I recall that was really cool about the Union we had at Lockheed was

it basically eliminated those work place Tyrants that made the job miserable.

No bosses could or would 'f' with you, they were kept at a distance,

basically you were free to just build the planes.

If there is no national truckers union, TRUCKERS ARE DOOMED !!!!

You all better start organizing or at least support the movement or you will be working like dogs for peanuts until the Mexicans take all your jobs, then they will start a union because they stick together.

You're the only person I see, asserting that high school kids are driving trucks. I don't know of any "OTR" trucking company, "Union Driver" or not, whom hires kids right out of high school to drive for them. Maybe all these trucks out there are really being used in "Farm and Ranch" operations?? That would let a "High Schooler" be able to drive the trucks...at least in "Intrastate" operations!

Heck AVC......You just came up with a brilliant idea for a "Trucking Executive". Hire high school kids to drive their trucks from one state line to the next! Switch drivers at the border....opens the job market up exponentially!! Keeping the kids inside their "Home" state, driving farm and ranch equipment, allows those kids to drive the big rigs. :p :p:p:p :p Plus they would be able to drive wages even lower!!!

Now....there is still the problem of Werner, YRC and CREngland trucks getting classified as farm and ranch equipment.

YRC drivers will only continue to receive wages and benefits, as long as YRC contines to remaiin in business. Personally, I expect to see YRC go the way of the Phoo-Phoo bird and Consolidated Freight!

"But wait........The Teamsters just gave huge concessions to YRC, so that YRC can try and survive......of course....The "Teamsters" aquired a huge stake in YRC."

I love the idea that the Teamsters "allow" a company to try and take steps to survive.

If a company is dumb enough to unionize, it's because they screwed up somewhere along the line, IMHO

The Union bosses want to keep it going for as long as they can...

They make very good money

I would suspect they know their watering hole is drying up fast

I give YRC less than 6 months before they go the way of CF and the other FAILED union LTL CARRION birds. For one reason the Teamsters and their LEAGACY costs. When Toyota sells the same number of cars as GM yet there is 55 Billion bucks in the balance sheets in one year. Toyota last year made 17 in profit GM lost 38 Billion. Differance one has a UNION that being GM the other is not you can not place all the blame on the Senior Exec or the Engineers. When my uncles Toyota Solora sedan has 290K on it before it blew a rod bearing and that was the only major failure. Yet my moms 2006 Uplander has spent more time in the shop than on the road.
