Priority Shut Down...LOL...Get This One!!!

From what I'm told...Ol' man Johnson, who sold KJ to Priority, has Lennards Express in the building out back of where Priority, Farmington, NY branch is..that Celadon bought.

Anyway, Celadon bought the customer base that Priority had for around 1 million and didn't buy the equipment or the building. Well Johnson got ahold of the customer list and solicited them all and stole all the customers that Celadon paid for.

What a joke...just goes to show you how crooked these companies can be!!!

Actually, what it shows is how stupid Celadon is.....if they actually paid $1M for a "customer list"..... and didn't get a signed and sealed "no compete" agreement....

Customer lists aren't worth squat.....they are in every phone book and set of public records.

Maybe they paid the $1M for "goodwill" in the transaction.....

I was talking to one of their drivers,in the San Antonio Flying J,last week.....He said Celadon only bought the lanes.....

Excuse me Rev. You can't drive from Greenbay to Milwaukee anymore. My company just bought that lane.

Companies don't really buy customer lists. They buy the freight contracts. As mentioned before if a company buys out a contract and does not get a no compete clause they are stupid. Of course there often is nothing saying that the customer can't cancel the contract and go somewhere else.

Was on Indiana toll road yesterday I-80/90, went over top I-69 Angola/Fremont Indiana.
The International dealer down there off i-69 must have had at least 75 Priority tractors sitting in the back lot. Was kind of sad.

Why? The more of these freight-ho' rate-cutters that go under, the better the rates will be for the surviving carriers.

Well...cant argue with that....you do have a point.
I guess it just amazes me how fast it is happening, and to companies that I wasnt expecting it to happen to.

i have heard of open door policies but these guys are over the top.
they deserve to go under telling all these drivers the intricate details of their business so they can get on the internet and bandy about these million dollar numbers and lanes and such
