Your words, not mine. For starters, you keep implying that your experience may be different because of your gender. Nothing wrong with that. Just own it. Refer to an earlier post of mine where I suggest that you simply start posting your experiences and stop asking what people will think. Posing such a silly question immediately opens the door for any type of discourse. Because it is not what you had in mind, does not make it wrong.

Lastly. Driver to Driver. I really hope that it all comes together for you. Additionally, I will heed your wishes and refrain from further questioning of your motives. However your experience turns out, I am sure that it will be of help to someone on the board. That is something I definitely would not want to get in the way of. Now get to work

I would be interested in any new information that anyone has to give about JB Hunt, and any other carriers out there.

The info I have is old and out of date.

And thanks to all of those who remember me.

JUST POST YOUR EXPERIENCES

Kind of like everrtrucker does - but not quite as much detail and embellishment.

It'll make for an interesting thread and then you won't have dopes like Belpre122 trying to engage in nonsensical arguments. Frankly, I think he's the one seeking attention

Been with them a year now. They are what they are I guess. You'll like them some weeks and then other weeks you'll want to strangle your Qualcom. I have to scratch and claw to get more than 2500 miles a week. I've learned that wasting my time talking to a night/weekend dispatcher is just as beneficial to me as going into the truck stop and screaming at the nearest brick wall.

They're getting cheaper and cheaper by the day. I'm taking my first earned 7 day vacation next month in Dayton. I'm told I have to drop my truck off in Columbus before I go to Dayton. Fine...reimburse me for the rental/cab to Dayton, right? Nope. So it's going to cost me $150 just to GET to my place of vacation. This is the bgigest reason I'll be splitting ways with them at the end of the year.

They're a good company to get your first 1-2 years with, but I honestly can't imagine having a career with them.

I also haven't been west of Kansas City in an entire year of being an "OTR" driver with them.

Bring it on Soladad. I want to know.

Graymist 06-04-2008 06:56 AM

Go for it, Soladad !! After reading so much about JB, mostly from folks who've never actually worked there, it'll be quite illuminating to know what it's truly like, warts and all, from someone who actually works there . And judging from your previous posts from your Roehl days, I think you can be trusted to keep things informative and objective.
