I drove for them a few years ago. They do use quallcomm.Their pay is good but you have a hard time getting home.Their equipment is decent and they do keep you busy.Hope you like Laredo. They have a terminal there and alot of their freight comes out of Laredo.

Aren't they sort of a sister company to CFI? I kind of remember reading that somewhere?

There was a marriage between the families that ran the two companies, thus a certain level of cooperation existed. Apparently this is no longer the case.

Over a few beers one night (St. Patrick's Day maybe?) a Melton driver told me that the reason there was a marriage, as opposed to there is a marriage, was that the fella in the equation had a fondness for the senoritas in Nuevo Laredo. Apparently he got caught. No confirmation, no evidence to back it up, nothing like that. So take it for what it's worth.

I don't know how closely the companies ever worked together, but I know we still always have Melton trucks hanging around our yard in Pocahontas and the terminal in Michigan. They use the same yard that we use in El Paso, as well.

I know a guy that works for them now. He says he averages about 2500 miles per week and gone two weeks at a time. They treat him well. He is able to get home during the week for a visit also as he only lives 45 minutes from Tulsa.

My brother drives for them and has been for over a year now, he likes it there, has a new Volvo and working pretty steady. He's the type that goes out for 6 months without coming home though.. They let him pull a lot of crap, going out of route, filling places he isn't suppost to, ect.. without firing him.
